Dell 4700 need to reformat but need to get admin code for the bios. already took bios bat out and unplugged all cords on inside and re-plugged them. got system code, but still need bios admin code is there...

I believe that you need to set up the CMOS jumpers inside the main circuit board. For details click on this link (Click Me)
1. Look for 3 pin CMOS clip that says CLR CMOS on the mainboard 2. Take out the jumpers from 1 and 2 3. Put it in jumpers 2 and 3 and wait for 5 seconds 4. Put it back to jumpers 1 and 2

Forgot bios password for dell dimension 4700

Hello Scanluz, please try the following:

1. Power off your desktop, disconnect power cables, and remove the cover

2. locate the CMOS battery (it looks like a large watch battery). take it out, wait for about 10-15 seconds and put it back in...thats it. reconnect and boot your system.

3. If you can't find the CMOS battery, then check your pc manual for the bios jumper setting. usually you just remove it and wait for 10-15 seconds also but yours motherboard config may differ

Thanks, please let me know how it goes.

Power supply was changed but now monitor won't turn on??

If you have tried two monitors and they both do not work check to see if you can get into the BIOS.

If you can not the problem is most likely your video card and needs to be replaced.
