When he hit the screen, he most likely broke through the protective glass screen and broke the lcd screen that displays your picture. It's probably better for you to just replace the tv itself, it'll be more costly to repair the tv than to replace it.
You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new LCD. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.
Hi,
unfortunately it can't be repaired the entire panel will need to be replaced, most times the cost of the panel is as much or more then the cost of the tv. My son broke our 42" lcd after had it for only 3 weeks! Not covered under warranty...we had to replace tv. FYI there are companies that sell a clear protective screen for LCDs I bought one and it works great! One such website is www.tvarmor.com but you can google and find alternatives.

First of all....make sure that your notebook is covered with Accidental Damage Protection Plan.
If your Notebook is under normal Factory Warranty provided by HP, you cannot get the LCD replaced for free.
However, you need to contact HP Technical support either through Telephone if the Notebook is under warranty or Chat Support even if the Notebook is out of warranty to get the required details.
Additionally, if the Notebook is out of warranty, I recommend you to go for a new Notebook rather than getting the LCD Replaced since replacing the LCD will cost you as of a new Basic Notebook.
However, if you wish to get the Notebook repaired by HP, you can contact any nearest BestBuy, CompUSA or RadioShack stores which are HP Authorized Service Providers.
unfortunatly the protective screen is not available as a seperate part, it is the whole LCD panel that needs to be replaced. if the TV is the LC-42d62U then the part number is R1LK420D3LF21 and can be found at www.vancebaldwin.com for $2362.80.
If you just bought it - return it... It's pretty difficult to get body parts for a remote, even one so sophisticated as that with it's own lcd screen area. Besides, you're probably going to be a bit better off because even though the lcd looks okay now it could also be damaged and take very little more use and it could go out. Whatever broke the protective screen must have been one heck of a bump!
