I have a Frigidaire FRA144HT2. Purchased brand new. On "cool" it shoots cool air for about 8-10 minutes then turns to fan for 8-10 then it turns to cool again for the same time period. This keeps happening over and over. I've tried remote sensor as well but it does the same thing. I had an old Frigidaire that did the same thing but i got rid of it thinking it was bad. This is doing the same thing unfortunately. Is this some Frigidaire feature or something?

According to the Owner's Manual for your unit, what you have described can be caused by a dirty air intake filter (Turn unit Off, remove and clean the air intake filter) and/or the outside air is extremely hot. Set the fan speed to a faster setting, so that more air will come through the cooling coils more frequently.

In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it, that you can download & print for future reference.

My Frigidaire ac wall unit model FRA144HT2 has a humming sound after powering off and randomly starts humming hours after pushing the reset button

A humming sound coming from your Frigidaire AC wall unit after it has been powered off could be due to a few different reasons.
I can provide some potential explanations and troubleshooting steps to consider:
  • FAN MOTOR
  • THERMOSTATE DELAY
  • ELECTRICAL ISSUE
  • REFRIGERANT FLOW
  • OTHER MECHANICAL ISSUES

Frigidaire AC window unit, model fam185r2a (18,500 BTU) only cools for a few minutes before it cycles off and just fan blows. Then a few min later cool air cycles back on. Is this a thermostat issue?

The window units normally have a sensor thats attached to the front of the indoor coil. This controls the thermostat. I usually pull this sensor away from the coil because it stops cooling before the room is cool. It is attached to the cold coil so it senses the coil temp, not the room temp. You can normally see it when you remove the air filter. Don't break it! It may be a wire or small copper tube

A/c doesn't turn off or then won't turn on. All lights are on.

sounds like a bad selection switch. Its the switch you are turning off and on.

Why does my brand new wall AC unit turn on but the fan does not work?

Good Afternoon Michael,

I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FRA14EHT2, and the fan not turning on, even though the compressor turns on. Being that this is an air conditioning, I suggest either calling your local authorized technician or possibly the manufacturer. One of which will be able to assist and direct you in the right direction of having your air conditioner working. Hope this is helpful.
