My pronto m41 was not used for about 3 years. I need it desperately now except service light is on and scooter no go! Does "service" mean to clean, check bolts, connections, look for fraying wires, check battery cables, et al? Is a Checklist of some sort available to me?

For it to drive the levers have to be set so you CAN'T push it manually. (Also, the charger can't be plugged in)

SOURCE: I need to replace the

you are not to open and add water to your batteries they are supposed to be sealed. if you put unsealed batteries in your chair then you did not put in the correct batteries. Batteries from wal mart or any type of unsealed batteries will void any warranties on your chair. the fuse should not have blown if the batteries were put in correctly and you had the wrong batteries. You will have to contact Invacare directly to order a fuse or have a local provider order one for you. While your at it dump the batteries and purchase the correct batteries for your chair You need 2 U1 sealed deep cycle batteries. Check with a local interstate battery outlet or contact your provider to get you the proper batteries

SOURCE: wwe have a pronto m41 mobility chair.the service

First thing you must know is that the error codes are reversed on Pronto chairs with SPJ+ joysticks.
Only one year the M41 was made that the codes were correct. From approximately April 2008 to May 2009 was the only time a left error code ment left motor and a right code ment a right motor. Same for brake codes.
Brakes codes happen when the brake is out of gear, unplugged from the control brain or wire cut. Also from internal coil damage. Unless it's a wire you can reconnect you cannot fix the brake.

Unlock a spj+ joystick on a pronto m41

Hello,
Lets make sure this is just the joystick lock mode. When you turn the chair on and it is in joystick lock mode all the battery level lights will chase across several times and then the joystick will turn off.
When you turn the chair on and you see the battery level lights chasing from right to left push and hold down the power button till the lights turn off. Only the first year that the M41 was made had this option.

How do I turn off the pronto m41 speed limiter

Hello,

The Pronto M41 does not have a speed limiter per say. If the chair used to go faster than it does now then you may have some kind of problem with the chair. If the chair has always driven' slow, that is slower than the maximum 3.5 to 4 MPH then a Invacare Remote programmer is needed to program the chair to go it's full speed.
Seek a Invacare dealer and ask them if they can check the programming.

A Pronto M41 w/ SureStep was given to my Best Friend who has stage 4 cancer throughout her body. It seem to charge fine but a yellow wrench light comes on. Because it was given to her how can I how and...

Since time was important this may be too late.

1. You can download manuals for pretty much anything by asking Google for something like 'Pronto M41 manual'. Manuals help a lot.

2. Googling 'wheechair repair [your town]' will point you to people who can service the chair. You can also contact a local agency for people with disabilities for ideas.

What does a yellow wrench indicator light mean on a Pronto M41 w/Sure Step?

The yellow wrench is a diagnostic tool. How many times does it blink between pauses. Example might be 3 blinks then pause then 3 blinks then pause, over and over. Hoe many does your chair blink?

We are trying to move the chair and the service light keeps coming on

The service light indicates a problem. Count the number of flashes. ie flashes 4 times pauses flashes 4 times etc. If you have the owners manual the flash code section will tell you what the number of flashes mean: 3 flashes left motor 4 flashes right motor. You will have to contact a service company to repair the chair once you find out what flash code you have. If Medicare pirchaed the chair then they will pay for most of the repair cost. Hope this helps
