This is usually caused by a failed component in the moisture detection circuitry within the camera. This will require disassembling the camera to remove the tape mechanism and then replacing the defective component, reassembly and calibration if necessary. This can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Condensation, operation paused

you can try gently drying it with a hairdryer not too close or too hot but try to get the moisture out that is causing your problem. this could have been caused by coming in from the cold to a warmer room. this should fix it.

Getting a message on my camcorder lcd. "condensation operation paused"

According to my Canon manuel, it occurs when condensation forms water droplets inside the camera. It also says that the camcorder will auto matically shut off. Time will vary depending on location and weather condition. General rule is 2 hours.

Camera keeps giving condensation warning

Sudden temperature changes will do that (from cold to warm usually). There is no way to fix it (an dyou do not want to run it that way anyway) other than to keep the camera warm.

Please Wait Condensation, Operation Paused

This is often referred to as DEW and is a sensor inside the camera that detects moisture. You can hasten the removal most times by warming the camera with a hairdryer on medium setting and not too close to the plastic case. When you store the camera store it with a few of those little bags of silicone crystals that come in many packages that we just throw away.

Jvc gr d50.. "condensation, operation paused"

Set it in a bowl of rice for a couple days or leave it out in the open air till it works again. Do not use a hair dryer or any type of pressurized air source. The rice works for cell phones that take a dip in a water source too.

Jvc comcorder getting error message "condensation, operation paused"

If the camera becomes damp or cold and brought into a warm atmosphere damp forms in the mechanism which would cause the tape to stick and become damaged or fouled.

leave the camera to warm up for a few hours and the fault should clear.

If not the most common reason is the dew sensor has failed and needs replacing

Condensation, Operation Paused

The only thing you can try is to dry it out completely. Open every possible port to the interior, and put it near a dry-heat source. If the moisture is reasonably near a surface it may take a day or two -- if it is in a semi-sealed place it may take forever for the condensation to evaporate out. There's nothing more you can do but have patience and keep trying it to see if the error goes away over time, possibly a looong time. Before you bring it inside from the cool outdoors, you should seal it in a plastic bag until it warms up -- that way any condensation will form on the outside of the bag and not inside the camera.
