Copying MP3s using Drive Mode.

Friday afternoon I was copying some MP3s over using Drive Mode. I had successfully ejected the drive and had clicked to cancel Drive Mode completely when I got a strange error box: "Are you sure you want to format this device? All data will be lost." Well, I very carefully and surely hit "Cancel"! When I opened P-tunes, I couldn't see my MP3s by any method. I figured they were in the "wrong" place, so I switched to Files AND SAW NOTHING!! No files, no file structure, and FileZ saw nothing too. I was horrified. I attempted to restore from backup. No dice. Sync would only go so far. I tried mounting the LD by Drive Mode. No way. Horror continued. Finally, I decided I had forgotten a good way to troubleshoot: I soft reset and BINGO! All were back, including the MP3s. I figure what happened is that after my Mac had unmounted the LD, the PalmOS failed to remount it. That's just a guess. Anybody have this happen to them?

Yes! soft reset and all was fine but looked pretty grim for a moment. Happened to me when i put the SD/LD icons into the trash (mac osx) before I hit the first 'turn off drive mode' page rather than hitting 'turn off' button, then trashing the icons, then hittinf turn of drive mode button. Is this in the manual....nope!

Usb flash drive how to use

On Windows systems you may drag and drop or copy and paste.
Bring up your flash drive by double clicking it : Start - Computer -click on the flash drive.. Make that window smaller by clicking on the square "windows" icon if you want . Then you can open the files you wish to copy, highlight them and right click "copy" then click on the flash drive window and right click and "paste" Or you may open both the flash drive window and the files you wish to copy window and drag and drop them into the flash drive window by clicking on the file and holding the mouse button down while "dragging" it into the flash drive window then releasing the mouse button.

My dvd wont play on laptop

b> Copy-protected DVDs prohibit people from copying them, which is piracy. Copying a DVD to sell or even to give away is illegal. You can play copy-protected DVDs in a standalone DVD player or in your computer's DVD drive, as long as your computer's software is up to date. These DVDs will play the same as DVDs that are not copy protected

Press the "Eject" button on your DVD player to open the DVD tray. Set the DVD into the tray, and push the "Eject" button to close the tray. Press the "Play" button on your DVD player, and the DVD will play. b> On a DVD Drive on a Computer Press the "Eject" button on your DVD drive to eject the DVD tray. Set the DVD into the DVD drive, and push the tray in to close it. Click the "Start" tab on your computer's home screen to open the "Start" menu. Click on "My Computer" to open it. Click on the DVD drive to open the DVD. Click on "Autoplay" to play the DVD.

I got an MP3 player that I ordered and thought i downloaded music on it but when i turned it on there were no files on it what do i do

If this is a USB device, plug it on to your PC.

1. Go to my computer
2. Right click on the device
3. Select properties
4. Go to tools tab
5. error checking - click check now

This should solve some problems.

Otherwise.

Format the USB drive by right clicking on my computer and right clicking on this device.

Load/Copy your MP3s

When done, right click on device in my computer and click on EJECT. Do not remove device without ejecting it.

Hope this helps!

Door will not open

make sure the drive is not reading a disk, because if its spinning it can break when you do this process.

look for a hole in the front of the drive, get a paper clip and stick it in there all the way, the tray will now eject or if its a slot loading drive the cd will eject

Iomega ZIP drive Model Z10052 purchased in 1998. Disk is stuck inside. Have turned off electricity & used the paper clip as shown in Troubleshooting. Doesn't work, think maybe disk was put in wrong....

Some Iomega Zip drives suffer from what end users have dubbed "The Click of Death". The symptoms of the drive meltdown under this conditions is that the disk will not eject and makes a distinct clicking noise when it attempts to spin up. I do not now if the Z10052 is specifically a model of the Zip drive that is effected by this problem.

I do know that others, though I have never had the occasion to use it myself, have had success with stick disks in ZIP drives by powering down the unit then re-powering it back up while holding the drive eject button in during the process [holding the button down the whole time]. They report this has caused the disk to eject.

I have a Philips Gogear SA23XX its 1GB. i have switched to linux(i still have windows on a partied drive) i plugged in the player and when i look at the mp3s on there. it shows them all locked so i clicked...

Look at the mount options, it sounds like your linux distro may have mounted the aria's filesystem as read-only or as a another user (root perhaps?). You're going to need to use the shell prompt to figure this out.

Cannot copy to flash drive anymore

Your pen drive might be having some kind of virus that is creating this problem. Get USB Disk security from http://www.zbshareware.com/

I'm using it since many months and whenever there's some kind of virus on my pen drive, and I insert it in my PC, this USB disk security detects it and allows me to remove it. Nice littly proggy.

Memory card in Motorola v3i cell phone

How are you copying these Files, USB Cable to the phone, or a card reader?
What operating system are you using?
I/O device problem, disconnect from usb, wait a minute then plug it back in, it might not have installed correctly. (if problems persist with this you might need to acess Device Manager)
Does this phone have Itunes in it? are you attempting to transfer files using I tunes.

I found putting the card into a card reader attached to my PC works best, using MP3s.
Below is assuming you are using a card reader and a PC.

It works like any flash drive.
I would format the memory card
(open your My computer, where you should see all the drives in your PC, you should see the flash drive/ card there, right click on it and a window will pop up, click on quick format )

what file type are you attempting to transfer.

I open the flash drive, then I open my music folder (transfering only MP3s), I drag my files from one to the other.
On mine I currently have jpg files and MP3 files and I can acess this from my phone. ( I have the same phone)

I also have some bluetooth heads phones which work pretty well to.
