    Wireless function has somehow gotten turned off. How do I turn on. Acer Aspire 5315-2153. It was working until the cable company "worked on" my tv cable system. Now I can't get the wireless and they say itis in my set up on the computer.

I am using acer aspire 5310.i don't find any wi-fi button up there in my lap.but the configuration says that it has w/lan 802.11.do my lap has wi-fi function?

I checked the specs for the laptop and couln't find an external switch for the wireless. It happens. Have you gone into your device manager and seen if the wireless network device is turned on/enabled?

I've got Toshiba Satellite U500-1f4 and some of fn keys work and some of them don't.Also, the fn menu doesn't appear when I press the button

The wireless feature (Wireless LAN) on an Acer notebook allows you to connect to available networks. This convenience allows you to use the Internet with network cables, modems or network installation. Acer laptops come with a wireless switch to turn the wireless feature on or off. Once you enable the wireless feature, your Acer notebook can connect to wireless networks within range.

Instructions:
1.Locate the Wireless LAN switch located on the front of your Acer Notebook. Move the switch to the right to turn on Wireless connections.

2.Right-click the network icon located on the system tray next to the clock. You should see a list of available wireless networks.

3.Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect."

Is the wireless enabled in the CMOS?
Also, make sure the wireless card is installed in the bottom of the unit. Reseat the wireless card and see if that helps. If not, post a reply here, and I will continue to help you.

I can't turn on my wireless LAN. There is a button at the top of the keyboard of my Acer Aspire 4520 but when I press it, it says "wireless LAN disabled". I have tried everything to turn it back on....
Try to restore your PC to the backdated point in SYSTEM RESTORE menu in control panel. Then try to switch ON wireless again. If this step does'nt work it means your Hardware (wireless adapter) is malfunction. Replace with a new one (USB Wireless adapter)

There is generally a button or switch that will enable and disable the wireless hardware on your computer. If it is disabled via software instead of hardware, you can go to the control panel, and look for your network settings. You can find your wireless adapter, and make sure it is not disabled.

If your laptop is the 4520, you need to download and install one of the wireless drivers (last 2 on the list) from http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/free-download-driver-acer-aspire-4520.html (Check to see which one your laptop has, in Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager.
