Sorry, I haven't addressed the station memory problem further since replacing the AC switch by-pass capacitor, which same didn't solve the problem. I'm using the receiver only as an amplifier for a Roku SoundBridge, so the station memory isn't a problem at present. When we return to AZ, I may look at it again.

Gotta kenwood kr820. Set on radio station, have to turn it all the way up n barely hear it. When in between stations, volume works very well. Any suggestions

Hello Mark, ask, do you do this with FM stations, like with AM stations?
If so, you may have a power problem with the radio stage, if it is only FM, check the antenna connection or you may have a problem in the Multiplex decoder circuit
If you can not solve it, I suggest you go to a specialized technical service
Greetings Franco Dosil

Can the Kenwood KR-4600 connect to an ipod?

Hi,yes you can connect Kenwood KR-4600 to an ipod.

Instruction..

You will need an coolken_9.jpgRCA cable .

Connect the RCA (red and black to the input of the Kenwood KR-4600...You have options of inputs to use..

Either input at the back of the Kenwood KR-4600,or tape A and tape B..which ever you wan to use..

After connecting the red and black RCA to Kenwood KR-4600, then connect the other jack end to the ipod, and go the front of the Kenwood KR-4600 to activate the input selection knob to the desired input being selected at the back of the Kenwood KR-4600..

Station Preset Memory Lost When Power Off

Have same unit, exactly the same problem: station presets lose setting when power is off. I've opened the unit; there is no apparent battery of any kind.

As long as the unit is powered up, the station pre-sets seem to hold. There IS a capacitor across the power switch. Some A/C will therefore be transmitted into the unit when plugged in, even with the switch off. If the capacitor is open, no charge will enter the unit when the power switch is open. I will probably replace this capacitor and see if that fixes things, but it may take several days to do so. Has anyone else tried this?
