I have a brand new ink cartridge in my printer. It printed the test page ok. When I try to print envelopes, it always says paper jam (there is no paper jam) the envelopes just wont feed. It's a Lexmark...

Make sure to set the correct paper setting on the printer or the Lexmark software before sending the print job. Adjust the printer's paper guide to the correct envelope dimension.

Just visit the website of lexmark to download the driver of your lexmark X6170. Search X6170 driver then download it. After you download you may now install the said driver to used your printer again....DONE

Have no disk to installlexmark x6170 printer

Here is the link to the Lexmark website to download the drivers. http://bit.ly/b0XDka . If your computer is Vista or Windows 7, check if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. By the way, for Windows 7, use the Vista driver. It is compatible with it. Printer is not compatible with Macintosh.

Transferability to other computers

Printer should work with any computer. Worst case is you might have to download drivers from lexmark.

Fax machine lexmark X6170 says error with cartrige 50c

It insists there is a Cartridge problem on the Printer............ In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Blinking Stopped...........Issue Resolved....... Still Blinking: Remove both the Cartridges take a Paper Towel turn the catridges direction so that u can see a Copper plate with small boxes on it....... Just wipe it twice or thrice with the Paper Towel.......... Now insert it and Power on the Printer and see whether the Lights are still blinking if it is still blinking...... Contact Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK Good Luck.........

Lexmark x6170 printer

You will need to go on-line and find the Windows Vista download for the drivers and software for the item you are installing. After installing; re-start computer and see if printer prints.

Follow these guidelines when loading envelopes on your model:

The print side of the envelopes faces you.
The envelopes are loaded vertically against the right side of the paper support.
The stamp location is in the upper left corner.
The paper guide rests against the left edge of the envelopes.
You choose to print the envelope with Landscape orientation.
You select the correct envelope size. Select the next biggest size if the exact envelope size is not listed, and set the left and right margins so that your envelope text will be correctly positioned on the envelope.
