Question about Palm LifeDrive Handheld

Preventing hard drive spindown

Everyone's complaining about the lag. Part of the lag is from the fact that the hard drive spins down to conserve power when not in use. Frankly, I'd rather have the hard drive spinning continuously if it meant less lag, even if I had to recharge it more often! Is there a software fix for this?

SharkCache or RLock maybe cause some reset when you use your LifeDrive. In other word, SharkCache or RLock makes the LifeDrive unstable. It will conflict with some program you install in the LifeDrive. Speed or Stable ? You can judge by yourself.

Hitachi model sf-95pjs top loading only spinning not not working on last of cycle even when I select spin (no rotating with high speed and cycle finish and give pip)

If the drive motor is not burnt out, then the washer has too many clothes in it to spin fast. If you cram too many clothes in the washer, it will not spin itself to ashes. It will complain. If you practice, you will find the correct amount of clothes it will spin without complaining. Eventually, the drive motor will burn up. My seagate goflex desk 4 tb was running fine but out of sudden inbetween it started making clicking sound n stopped responding Sinse then it makes sounds n not detected in my pc n also in disk management...

Hard drives can click for a couple of reasons, 1. the hard drive is not getting enough power to spin up correctly and 2. the hard drive has crashed totally which in fact can be fairly costly if you need data rescued from it - try another USB cable from the hard drive too as this may help.

A hard drive is reporting a SMART event

This could be any number of things, from a hard drive shut down error to an incorrect spindown, etc.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can load your BIOS (by pressing the DEL key at system boot) and test your drive's SMART functionalities from there.
For the less computer savvy, take it in to get looked at.
Technically if your system boots fine and runs fine, it's nothing to worry about, but it's like the check engine light on a can only ignore it for so long before something goes horribly, massively wrong.

I have a refurbished ibm netvista. when i turn it on, the cpu fan will start to spin for a few seconds, then i'll hear a weak beep, then the fan will stop spinning (power off), then the fan will...

Remove the hard drive and RAM. See what it does. It should go into BIOS and complain. If it doesn't you have a motherboard issue as it won't POST.

H: I have a dell d600 and the hard disk below the palmrest is getting hot how i resolve this problem

Overheating of harddisk is very common in laptops.
But it can cause problems. So i suggest you to clean all the vents, get the heatsink cleaned or replaced at service center. Also you can decrease the spindown time of harddisk to minimize its usages...
for changing spindown time go to..Control Panel>>>All Control Panel Items>>>Power Options>>>Edit Plan Settings>>>click change advance power settings>>> in advance reduce the turnoff harddisk time to 1 Minutes.

hope this will help for sure.....cheers

What is conservation of mass and energy and give example

In fact there are 2 different conservation laws: conservation of mass and conservation of energy. Of course in a chemical or any other physical process these 2 laws will hold!
Conservation of mass: the mass of a closed (isolated system) system will remain constant over time.
Conservation of energy: total amount of energy in an closed system remains constant over time
Furthermore if we look into the relativity theory, it states that in fact mass and energy are two names for the same thing (the equivalence principle of mass and energy), neither one "appears" without the other.
Example: an iron nail left in a cup of water until it turns entirely to rust. A precise scale will register a change in mass. The energy will appear as heat, which will be lost to the environment so because of the conservation law you will see a loss in the mass of the system.

A75 s226 wont boot

If it says that the hard drive is not detected, then most probably its a busted hard drive. I doubt it's a motherboard issue since it was able to tell you that it can't find a hard drive. Plus the fact that there are spinning noises which can only come from either the hard drive or the fans.

Lag lag lag lag

Hi there,

Some ways to get rid of your lag is to change internet service providers. If you have a wireless adapter, you may also want to get a new router. If you also have an older router, you may need to change that even you don't use the wireless internet. And for the overheating 360, it should not get hot after that amount of time. Move away from your tv, put it on a flat hard surface.(Not Carpet!), and move it away from a wall that might be preventing it's ventilation.

Hope This Helps,
C13295 ;)
