X2580 not printing. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but it comes up with the realign box but doesn't print it then it asks you to put it under the glass but can't ofcourse because it hasn't printed it............

The problem could be due to the cartridge/s in the carrier or the carrier has stalled. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

  1. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  2. Check the cartridge area for any debris or foreign objects blocking the cartridge carrier. Check the encoder strip (transparent strip behind the carrier) and make sure it has gotten unseated from its position.
  3. If the cartridge is clear and looks normal, close the printer cover.
  4. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  5. When the printer turns on, check for any error. If "alignment" error appears again, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance. If no error appears, reinsert one cartridge first.
  6. Close the printer cover and check for errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. It could be a faulty cartridge. You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if your other cartridge is faulty.
If problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling or doing a repair. Make sure you have your install cd handy. You can uninstall or repair by going to control panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers. Then right click on the printer and either troubleshoot or remove the printer all together.

if the printer has the same exact status on another computer, you may need to remove the cartridges and the power cycle the printer, then put the cartridges back in.

if this does NOT happen when the printer is being used on another computer then you may need to uninstall and reinstall the printer from your computer.

check to make sure you have it set on the right printer by find printer... if that is okay check your ink levels and make sure they are in properly... you might also want to try restarting the printer and if none of those work you will have to try and uninstall the printer and then reinstall it....

Have you tried the printers on another PC?Please do.
  • Whats the Operating System on your PC?Do the printer drivers correspond with that Operating System?If not,download the corresponding drivers from this dell support site. This you select under compatibility.
  • After uninstalling the printer,disconnect fully and unplug from power.Reboot your PC before installing the printer again.

No content prints on document when word document is sent to the printer

Is the problem only with Microsoft Word? If so you might have selected something else in the "Print What" box in the "Print" dialog box instead of "Document". See the below screenshot and make sure that the "Document" is selected. The Print dialog box will come up when you click the "Print" sub-menu from the "File" menu, i.e. click "File" and select "Print".

If this doesn't help, reinstall the printers drivers/softwares. That should fix your problem.
If the problem isn't only with Microsoft Word Documents, then there might be other problems with your printer, it could be cartridge/s, ink, drivers, etc..

Print spooler error in windows xp sp2 & sp3

Click on Start -> Run ->Type: services.msc and click OK, this will bring the services window up. Scroll down to print spooler, turn on then double click on the Print Spooler Service and set start up type to Automatic, then click OK. Restart PC. Now, you have to reinstall the software (if you can't find it, please tell me your model so I can search it for you) If this won't work, completely uninstall all the software and again, reinstall it. Click on Start -> Run ->Type: Control Panel in the dialog box and click OK. Click on add remove programs and uninstall the software for the printer.
Then check Under the Printer and Fax to see if it was uninstalled. If not then just delete it. Printer and Fax is located in Control Panel. Once it's completely uninstalled you have to reinstall the software for the printer.

Hello. Try to unplug the printer from the power outlet for about 10-15 seconds to refresh itself. If that doesn't resolve the problem, it might be software communication issue. You can uninstall then reinstall the software. If you're computer is running on Windows, uninstall by going to Start Menu > Programs/All Programs > Lexmark Series folder > Tools/Uninstall. Reboot pc. Reinstall software. If your using Macintosh, go in the Lexmark folder and Uninstall. Reinstall software. Hope this helps.
