I can't access my yahoo mail

It sounds like your account has been compromised. Change your password, verify your alternate email address, then turn on 2-step login verification:

Have a problem with login Yahoo and getting message saying "You are logging from device we won't recognise you" and I forgot my answer for secret question.

The prompt you are receiving is called "Second sign-in verification," and it is designed to protect your account from unauthorized access.

There are several ways to confirm your identity:

Send a code to mobile phone or non-Yahoo! alternate email address:

  1. Go to the Yahoo! sign-in page (http://login.yahoo.com).
  2. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password, then click Sign In.
    • You may need to enter the security CAPTCHA code. (If you do not see a randomly generated code, simply proceed to the next step.)
  3. Select Receive Code and enter your non-Yahoo! alternate email address or mobile number.
    • Note: A code will be sent to the location you entered; make sure you do not navigate away from the page where you entered your alternate email address or mobile number.
  4. Once you receive this code, you will need to enter the code on the page where you entered your alternate email address or mobile number.
    • You may be required to update your current password.

Note: At this time Yahoo! alternate email cannot be used to confirm your identity. If your alternate email address is a Yahoo! email, please use your mobile number or security question.

Verify your security question:

  1. Go to the Yahoo! sign-in page.
  2. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password, then click Sign In.
    • You may need to enter the security CAPTCHA code.
  3. Provide the answer for the security question displayed and click Verify Answer.
    • You may be required to update your current password.

If you do not have a non-Yahoo! alternate email address, valid mobile number, or cannot verify your security question, you may need to contact Yahoo! to confirm your identity. Note: When filling out the form, please select Yahoo! Account under "Product."

My yahoo is lock over two week now

HI.....................

I believe I'm not the only one who received a weird message when trying to login into the Yahoo account. But when it says that my account was blocked for security reasons, it might be

something serious. You should know that if your account is suspended for this reason, you're not able to use any Yahoo product that requires authentication. However, we're all curios to know the reasons for the suspension and how long it will require until we are able to use the account. According to the Sunnyvale company Yahoo, every suspension of the account expires after 12 hours since it was started so all you need to do is to... wait. Quite a problem if we think that you might want to access very important information stored in your account.

What's more important is that the Yahoo account restriction can be applied when the parent company discovers that somebody, no matter it was you or other user, tried to login for multiple times but he typed a wrong password. Well, that should be a problem if we think that some users can abuse of this restriction and might exploit it just to lock somebody's account.

"If you receive a message stating that your account has been locked for security reasons, this means that there have been too many attempts to sign in to your account with the incorrect password. As a security measure, your account has been locked to prevent unauthorized users from being able to access it," Yahoo explains.

"The lock on your account will expire 12 hours after it was initially locked-the lockout period will not reset each time you attempt to sign in while the account is still locked. You can try to sign in again after the lock has expired. We are unable to provide you with the exact time that your account was locked or when it will be unlocked."

Obviously, there's not much to do to avoid this problem so, if you encounter this suspension, please keep in mind that somebody tried to login into your account but he didn't guess the password.

HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL TO YOU......

GOOD LUCK...............

My account is inaccessible. Its prompting account is locked "You have exceeded the maximum number of Sign In tries for the Yahoo! ID". This is the first time I experienced this. I did not know...

The message shown to you is not for that you have finished your limit in signing into your yahoo mail. There is no webmail service provider limits the number of logins to the inbox.
The message you got is a result of the many unsuccessful login tries to your inbox, that may be happened because there is somebody tried to login to your yahoo using wrong password many of times.
Just wait a moment then try to relogin again.

Can not remember password

This can happen to all of us. If you have a secondary email address registered on the Yahoo! Mail account in your question, you can have Yahoo! send a new password for it to your secondary email address.

Yahoo! may ask you a series of questions based on information you provided when opening the account. This is to confirm your identity as the owner of the account:

1) Open the Yahoo! Mail login page

2) Click the link "I cannot access my account"

3) Follow the prompts for confirming your identity as required

I hope this helps!

Can't get my yahoo mail because it's not accepting my password and I can't verify my identity because it's not accepting my pet's name. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOMETIMES This happens because somebody tried to make a large amount of attempts to guess your password and enter your account. Many times, it's not actually someone trying to access the account, they just know that by sending a huge amount of requests, they can cause the user problems by having their account closed.
The servers understand that a human can make about 5 or 6 attempts a minute, this would be normal if you had forgotten your password or made a typo etc... and at this rate, it would take 18011 years to guess your password.
An automated program however, could make 1000s of requests a minute or even more! Its when the server experiences these numbers, for your own security, it locks your account.
Fix:
First, visit http://login.yahoo.com/config/login Don't Worry! The first attempt will fail, say incorrect password or something. It's the second attempt that matters. What you will see this time, is that you have a word verification. This is a secure system by which only humans could be making the request, bots cannot see the text, they see encrypted numbers.
For some, this is it, the account will log in again! For others, it's not so. You have to wait up to 48hrs for the account to come back.
