Printer wont work

There could be something in the paper feeder that's blocking the paper path. Please follow steps below to identify and fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside for any debris.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris that could cause this error or problem.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.

8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.

Ok, go here and download the latest driver files for your printer and install them..

- In the SEARCH BY MODEL box, type in X85 and click SEARCH
- In the SEARCH THE KNOWLEDGBASE box, type in UNLOCK SCANNER. It will show some instructions for the X83, but that was the little brother of the X85, so should work.

it seems that there is no available driver that you can used for windows vista.

if you want, you can try to download the driver in this link http://driverscollection.com/?H=X85&By=Lexmark and hopefully you would be able to install it.

but if still there's no luck, better call lexmark and ask if they have driver for your printer that will work with windows vista.

i tried cleaning the rollers off with lens-cloth & paint thinner & got TONS of ink off the rollers, still same problem thoough, but very slight improvement.

Click on start, programs, lexmark x85
Click the "cartridges" tab and check the ink levels.
You may have to allign the print cartridges to set the color up correctly.

vista cant find lexmark X84 drivers on install disks,need replacements

You didn't specify which operating system you have.

If you have Vista, people have reported success using the Windows 2000 driver.
