I was playing my games last night on my PS3 then out of nowhere, the audio went out and all I could hear was the crackling sound. My netflix works fine, my dvds work fine. Just my game discs, and the installed games won't play audio.

If you are having trouble with audio just from Netflix and all the audio play back works then this sounds like you have a corrupted audio codex on the PS3.
The first thing I would do is uninstall Netflix from your PS3 and reinstall it. If this does not fix the problem I would reinstall the firmware for the PS3. If you still have trouble you may need to format the hard drive. The link below will help you do that if needed.
sound like ur speakers are failing lol im a genious right... u probabily figured that out try playing something else through ur system not ps3 if it still crackles u should think about changing your sound system
I CHANGED THE AUDIO SETTING UNDER HDMI FROM AUTO TO MANUAL AND I REMOVED DOLBY 5.1 FROM SELECTIONS.LEFT THE OTHER 2 SELECTIONS THAT WERE ALREADY SELECTED FROM AUTO SET FOR HDMI I HAVE NOT HAD AUDIO PROBLEMS SINCE.
