I was playing my games last night on my PS3 then out of nowhere, the audio went out and all I could hear was the crackling sound. My netflix works fine, my dvds work fine. Just my game discs, and the installed games won't play audio. Any help would amazing, thank you!.

No audio when using playstation 3 to streamline from netflix. TV audio works. Seems to be PS3

If you are having trouble with audio just from Netflix and all the audio play back works then this sounds like you have a corrupted audio codex on the PS3.

The first thing I would do is uninstall Netflix from your PS3 and reinstall it. If this does not fix the problem I would reinstall the firmware for the PS3. If you still have trouble you may need to format the hard drive. The link below will help you do that if needed.

It sounds like you have the dreaded Ylod its a common issue, Try resetting the system which works once in every systems,

If that does not work then you will most likely need to replace the Power supply, if your uncomfortable opening it,

Look on craigslist to see if there are any local repair shops in your area, that is uaually a 60 dollar fix on average but depends where you live.

PS3 hdmi Audio problem Crackling Sounds

Go to audio options, and manually DE-select Digital 5.1. That should fix it. It did for me.
