Windows Live is a group of services offered by Microsoft on the Internet and through mobile Web browsers. Users can sign up for Windows Live and access all of the services, including a calendar, messenger, social groups and parental controls. When signing up for Windows Live, new users can choose to create a free Live.com email address.
Navigate to the Windows Live sign-up page.

Choose the name carefully as this will be your email address. Choose "live.com" in the drop-down menu next to the "Windows Live ID" box. Fill Out the rest of the information on the sign-up page and click "I Accept" to complete the registration of your live.com email address.
