I've just got a Dell Axim X50v but it won't recognise my home wifi network. The network is based around a Belkin wireless router. My laptop works ok on network. Whe I run the WLAN utility on the PDA the site tab says that the network is recognised and the signal strength is good but when you look in the config tab there is no signal.
Can anyone help. Thanks
First, restart your pda by using your stylus and pressing the pin-hole sized button on the back of the PDA.
There are sometimes a couple of different reasons why the pda wont recognize the network.
Main Reason: Make sure you are at the home screen...
Tap the wifi icon on the lower right corner of the pda. T
hen make sure that the WLAN power is turned ON.
Press the setting button.
If you see your network in the list, tap on it.
It should bring up a network configuration window.
Make sure it says it connect to "The Internet".
Then tap on the "Network Key" tab at the bottom of window.
If you have no security settings on your belkin router, make sure Authentication is set to Open and Data Encryption is set to "Disabled".
Then press "OK".
That should Be it!!!! Let me know if this way doesnt work, or if something doesnt make sence!

scan around with the stumbler it should detect the network, if its set to the wrong band, G only for example it wont be detected set the router to mixed B / G mode.
If you haven't already done so, go to 'Start > Settings > Connections tab > Wi-Fi > Network Adapters tab', and make sure the 'My network card connects to:' dropdown menu is set to 'The Internet'.
Just my 2 cents...

You will need the disk that contains the firmware. The best thing to do is check on Amazon or ebay and upgrade to the highest firmware your device can accept. I belive the cost for a downloadable copy is between $5-10. If you do this make sure to follow the instructions for you can irrevocably render the device useless. :-(
You will not believe me but I have a similar problem. I have also Belkin router at home and wireless connection with my e800 works perfect. A few days ago I have tried to connect my PDA to wireless router of my best friend. His wireless network is protected like mine and after configuration of all settings I had no success.
The funny thing is that PDA show me the status CONNECTED but I can not use the internet explorer. Like I said, at home with my Belkin it works properly. I can really not explain what the problem is.
