Can't access www.gateway.com

Hello,
I'm currently in Hanoi, Vietnam, working and using a Gateway laptop. Recently I had to reformat my laptop with the back-up CD's I created when I bought the laptop. Unfortunately I still need to download all the drivers necessary to complete the formatting. For some strange reason I cannot access the www.gateway.com website. Vietnam does not block access to any websites. Why would Gateway block I.P.'s from VN? My model number is 6020GN.

    Thanks for responding...

    I can access everything else (email, any website, blogs....) For some reason I can't access gateway's website. About 5 minutes ago I successfully accessed it using an anon proxy but I still can't download the drivers I need. I have limited access to it, probably because it's a proxy. What do you think?

    thanks for the response.......
    It seems the problem is on my end in Vietnam. The ISP I use had blocked gateway.com for some reason. I'm going to request that they take the block off.

    are you able to connect to any other websites?

    try to log in to your email, can you do that?

I have the exact same problem, recently i formated my laptop and i need some drivers to finish the job but cant access gateway...it's really frustrating

To be honest my friend i cant tell why gateway would block ip addresses and i was trying to log in using FTP but seems there is no luck they wont give anonymous log ins

so i guess your only way is to depend on smone who can dowload the drivers for u and then send them to u

may be u can try to download them from a netcafe if possible

sorry my friend thats all i can think about for now

You will need the recovery disk.
Gateway does sell them but before you but the disk, Please Click Here
This will help you recover your computer without a disk, it is a longer process

Driver issues
If you have recovery discs, you can reinstall the drivers from them. Some notebooks have inbuilt recovery partition, you can even reinstall drivers from recovery partition.

You can find the drivers for your notebook model from the below link:

Gateway Mx6440 Sound Problems, installed Vista
Did you download and install this particular driver from Gateway:

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?ref=step&st=browse&platform=10022&model=10773&os=10954&type=10096

This is the specific Vista driver for your computer. If you have been trying others, your hardware probably will not work. Hardware compatibility is an issue with upgrading to Vista. You need to make sure you are getting the right drivers from the device manufacturer, and sometimes you might find none available.

Take the Tomtom to a shop and trade it for a garmin unit. It has global map and u can navigate country such as Vietnam with it.. using GSP coordinate.. also there is a Garmin map for Vietnam free on internet.. just google it and you will find it.
