The first thing you need to do is make sure the pump is primed and able to draw water from the pool and return it with full flow to the pool. Now turn it off and make sure that your hose fits into the suction port and that the hose connects correctly to the vacuum head and the pool pole fits to the vacuum head. Next you need to disconnect the vacuum from the suction port and place the vacuum head with the hose and pole connected to it onto the bottom of the pool. Now force the hose straight down into the pool so it forces water into the hose and forces all the air out of the end that connects to the suction port. Keep forcing more and more hose into the pool until all the hose is filled with water. This is called "sinking the hose". The end of the hose can now be connect to the suction port. When the pump is turned on it should start pumping water from the hose into the pump and when flow is able to draw dirt as you move the vacuum across the bottom of the pool until it is clean. I hope this helps.

What would be the best automatic pool cleaner for intex 18 x 48 easy set

the vacuum you are using is probably the best for the system you have. if you want a REAL pool vacuum, get a REAL pool. there is a reason that these are considered disposable pools. dont get me wrong, any way to cool off is great and these pools allow people this 'luxury' at a reasonable cost but they are assembled with low end, non standardized equipment that doesnt match with traditional pool equipment.

I put my Hayward ST180T on rinse to vacuum the pool and I ended up with sand in the pool what happen?

You are using the wrong setting to vacuum. This type of pool filter should be set to "filter" for normal vacuuming or to "waste" for heavy loads. The "rinse" setting makes sure that all of the dirty water is out of your filter after backwashing.

We have a hayward 244t sand filter. I was trying to learn how it works. I was trying to vacuum the pool but all the trash is coming back into the pool. What do I do?

For regular vacuuming, these pool filters should be set to the "filter" setting filter control valve. However, if you have a heavy load or the debris seems to be coming back into the water, you can try vacuuming with the filter set to the "waste" position. This will bypass the filter and vacuum directly out to waste.

Zodiac G4 will not move

Verify nothing is stuck inside the vacuum. Try adjusting your intake valves to reduce flow from your skimmer(s) and increase flow from the vacuum. Also, how old is the diaphragm inside the vacuum? Inspect it for rips and tears. Also, check the flex hose for rips and tears as well.

Zodiac baracuda wont go to shallow end of pool

If you can, adjust your intake valves so more of the suction is coming from your vacuum and less from your skimmers. This will allow the the vacuum to climb out of the deep end.
