I have received as a gift a Canon FS300 Digital Video Camcorder . The first time I used it, I followed instruction on how to charge the battery with CA-570 Compact Power Adapter which was included. It wok fine, took pictures and videos. When I decided to use it again (after a few months), I thought it should be recharged, but nothing is happening, no light on, just nothing. Can the (new) battery be defective? Is it the charger or the camcorder? Thanks!

Hi!

Almost sure there is nothing wrong with your battery, charger and camcorder.
The battery loose power even when doing nothing, especially when it is a NiMH type.

Please charge the battery for a couple of hours and try again to start the camcorder.

Good luck!

Unable to transfer videos from Canon FS300 to my pc or network drive

MOI is a computer file format used primarily to represent information. MOI files are associated with MOD or TOD files whose content they represent. The Pixela ImageMixer Video Editing Software should allow you to save your videos to your hard drive. But you may need to install the latest version of Quicktime Player (free) to view the the .mov files as an alternative to the ImageMixer program's viewer. Where can find camcorder serial number canon FS300

Hi,

The Serial No. is usually located under the camera. It is visible without opening any flaps/cover.
If you lift the camera up ( like taking picture of the sky ) and while looking underside of the camera
The numbers are written on 3 lines with 4 digits each
eg:
0123
4567
8910

Condensation operation

follow the manuals instructions for this, ergo: leave the tape hatch open for at least 30 minutes to an hour, and try again. If this doesn't work. Call canon, and see if they can repair or replace your XL2
