Hi,
I believe you are having issue with the DVD drive reading DVD's is that correct?
You did not mention the Windows Version you have.
But then again regardless what Windows you may have you can follow these steps to see if the DVD issues can be corrected.
Click on START, then Click Run, on the Run window type regedit the press enter or click on OK
the registry editor should show up on the screen.
Once you have the Registry Editor follow these HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
click on each category then on the last fer class will be the DVD drive itself, on the right pane windows you will see CD/DVD-ROM drives, look for Upper and Lower filters delete both by right clicking on each, after deleting restart windows.
For a Vista or Win7 OS it will basically almost be the same, but instead of looking for Run in the begining just click Start then on the start search portion where you can type just type in CMD then it will show on the list left pane windows that is where you can right click on it then select run as administrator then you can do the same steps above to get to the DVD drive upper and lower filters.
I hope that this will help.
Have a nice day.
