Yipes - seems that electronics have developed a nind of their own. Check with the manufacturer, if manual has no mention, of a reset switch or hidden code that will reset unit to factory defaults. Cross your fingers.

Dimage Scan Dual IV is it compatable with Windows 7 32 bit?

Right now, the Konica-Minolta site lists the scanner as discontinued and has no drivers for Windows versions later than XP. The Microsoft Compatibility site lists it as "Information Coming Soon" You can try the generic driver that Windows will try to install (check if you need TWAIN or WIA drivers) or download the current driver and try installing it with XP SP3 compatability mode (right click on the file, select Properties, then the compatability tab.

If those fail, there is another option in Win7 Pro or Ultimate. Download and install the XP mode from Microsoft (2 downloads/installs). Then install the scanner inside the virtual computer running XP that results. You may need to save images to external media to share them between the two computers.

There are 4 flash modes: Autoflash with or without red-eye reduction, Fill-flash and Flash cancel. (There are 3 flash modes in A, S, and M mode: Fill-flash with or without red-eye reduction, and Flash cancel.)

Installation and Usage Tips for the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement Upgrade:

Taken from the DiMAGE 7 Upgrade Software Installation Pamphlet… Power Supply during Update: When performing the software update, please use a set of fully charged NI-MH (nickel hydrogen) batteries or the AC Adapter AC-1L or AC-2L (sold separately). When using the AC Adapter, be sure not to inadvertently disconnect the camera during the software updating procedure, otherwise the camera may be permanently damaged. Amendment to the DiMAGE 7 Upgrade Software manual… (Located on an insertion card within Upgrade Kit and Upgrade Firmware boxes) For Windows XP users: Do not copy the dsc.app and ram.bin files directly from the CD-ROM to the CF card or the upgrade will not be executed correctly. First copy these two files onto the computer’s hard drive or desktop, and then copy them into the CF card. After upgrading: When the camera is turned to the playback mode, the no-image message appears and the images taken before the upgrade are not displayed. These images were placed in a folder with names ending in MLT03, the upgraded camera places images in folders ending in MLT14, see CompactFlash card folder organization in the DiMAGE 7 manual. To view images taken before the upgrade, select the appropriate folder in the custom 1 section of the setup menu. Refer to DiMAGE 7 manual for a description of this function. What equipment is required when upgrading to the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement Upgrade?

A PC or Macintosh with a CD-ROM drive and the DiMAGE 7 interface kit are required. If you do not have the Dimage 7 interface kit, a CF card reader/writer can be used for updating.
