Fine Pix F700 LCD shows only blurry colors. I took a picture thru the viewfinder and it is blurry, too.

There really is no picture of anything - just blur like clouds. I can use the Menu OK.

  • Barbara Snyder Aug 09, 2011

There were no old pictures on it. I will now try to take a picture and look at it on the computer.

  • Barbara Snyder Aug 09, 2011

No. The picture is just blurry colors.

  • Barbara Snyder Aug 09, 2011

That is correct. Just one more thing: after this problem began, there was a brief time when I could take photos, but then it started doing this again.

I assume I pay for only one consultation even though I was offered another one for pay.
    I need a new camera.
    Thank you.

Are you check ISO setting are these taken on? Noise is when the ISO is turned up too much. I had a look on DPreview for you camera, but couldn't find it. Looking at this one ISO Sensitivity / Noise levels I'd say anything over ISO400 is "too much" in this case.

Could be a slow shutter speed. Try using a hard mount of some sort. Steady your camera against something solid like a table or a wall.

If the problem isnt solved, could be some CCD wrong; when a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details: Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

Hello.

Sounds like a problem with the image sensor. Try removing the battery first and the memory card, but if it is an image sensor issue, it may need replacing. Can you see the picture taken even if it is blurry? Can you still see the menu options? If you connect it to a computer and transfer the picture, are the pictures still blurry?

Can you still see the old pictures saved in your camera properly? Have you tried transferring the old and new pictures taken into a computer?

OK, I will just wait for the result.

You mean the new pictures taken are still just blurred colors when transferred to a computer? Then it is an image sensor issue. You will need to order the camera's mainboard to fix it. But that could be more expensive than buying a new digital camera.

All of a sudden everything is out of focus and very blurry, pictures and even through the view finder. we took a few pics tht turned out normal, set the camera down picked it up about 5-10 minutes later...

If the viewfinder is also blurry, it might be as simple as a smudge on the lens. Is the blur uniform and consistent on the pictures and in the viewfinder? Was there a curious dog nearby when you set the camera down?:)

Nikon D80. It worked fine until recently (maybe after I took pictures during whale-watching in a heavy rain and camera got wet). Now the view in the viewfinder is kind of greyish and blurry. Focus area...

Seems like your problem on greyish/blurry viewfinder is caused by the camera getting water logged. Get your cam cleaned by Nikon.

The flashing red light usually happens if you have this indicator set in the camera. This may not necessarily be an error.. just a setting that you have put in place in your menu.

Digital camera Fine Pix

Does this happen all under the same lighting conditions, or in low or very bright light? If consistent light, do the pictures still seem faded or blurry on the screen of a computer? if so, the sensor might be damaged, and yes a new one. If they're ok (consistent) on computer screens, then the camera lcd might be loose or damaged which means its fine but give it away and get a new one if you can't handle shooting without relying on the lcd.
