i think the hf means heater fault,,,,,,,,,,,,or the thermostat

Flame present with gas valve "OFF" error
If flame is sensed with the gas valve off the control will go into lockout. The blower will run until error condition is corrected. When corrected, control will run blower for 5 s then automatically restart after 2 minutes.
the error might be caused by a faulty flame sensor. i have heard of this happening the other way (carbon blocks sensor causing no ignite)

According to pages 47-50 of the install guide, section on FAULT FINDING, the alternating H and F indicates Flame Detection Short Circuit Error. Actions are: Remove flame detection electrode terminal from PCB. Test for continuity between 2 terminal pins? If YES, replace flame detection electrode. If NO, replace PCB. make sure water filter is CLEAN ! this will throw a code

hf error stands for hot water not being detected, make sure both hot and cold water are open and not reversed. if unit overfilled and flooded garage, the is if with you pressure switch or pressure hose. remove to lid of machine and you will find pressure switch and hose to the right side, inspect hose for any pin holes, if ok, order pressure switch

This code means its not getting a sufficient water supply. I was doing a cold wash and noticed it was sucking down some hot water, so shut off the hot. MISTAKE, after a little bit the HF code came up. Apprently it likes to decide for itself just how cold is cold. Darned Computers.

To make a short story long, when I shut off the hot, it apparently shredded the washer and sent the remnants down to the little filter thingy at the washer itself, whereupon they reassembled themselves into a clog, once again giving me the HF code.

(Check your user manual Troubleshooting section. I think it says to press Pause/Cancel twice)
