Hi kennycrocket,
You might be looking at dead plates or faulty regulators. I'd suggest lifting the cooktop of, and turning it over. Then very carefully, while still on at the main, testing at the power points with a multimeter.
First test incoming power to the regulators (The devices found under the knobs), then testing power to the plates. If power gets to the regulators, but not to the plates - The faulty part is the regulators. If however power goes to the regulator as well as the plates, then the plates are faulty.
