Problem with voume

When pressing the volume button, there are only 3 extremely different levels rather than a gradual increase. Is there a reset button or known fix?

Do you mean that by pressing the volume button it changes the volume to one of these 'extreme' levels only? In either case it sounds like a hardware problem as in probably not DIY. Sorry.

My phone is on "vibrate." How do I get it to ring.

Try pressing and holding the volume UP button while the phone is idle (not in a call). Most phones will switch from completely silent, to vibrate, to low volume and gradually increase to full volume as long as your are pressing the volume UP button. Also, make sure your phone's "Airplane" mode is OFF.

To recover password to unlock screen

Samsung Galaxy Tab Hard Reset GT-S6102

1.press upper voume button + menu + power button
2. rebbooting screen will appear with options like android system recovery, android system recovery rebbot system, apply update from sdcar, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition...
3. choose "wipe data/factory reset" option
4. select yes and delete all.... select options through volume key
5. press rebbot now
6. handset formatted and back to normal state
7. successfully done

Press the SET button until WAKE 1 / WAKE 2 icon is blinking.
Press REV or FWD to set the wake time. The time decrements or increments will follow by a faster rate when you press and hold either REV or FWD.
After the WAKE time is set, press SET repeatedly until no icon is blinking.

Tips:

The unit equips with GRADU- WAKE feature, the alarm tone volume will increase gradually to its maximum in about 30 to 45 seconds.
If you set the SLEEP function with low volume level before going to bed, we advise using WAKE mode to wake you up since its volume will automatically increase.

Waking by Selected Source: You may be woken up by WAKE, RADIO or CD.

Select an AM or FM station.
Set wake time (see above directions).
Press WAKE 1 or WAKE 2 to select waking up by WAKE, RADIO or CD. Corresponding indicator will be shown next to the selected setting.
Adjust the volume by turning VOL.

You can select your CD wake track by the following procedures:

Make sure you have inserted a CD.
While holding WAKE UP CD TRACK, press REV or FWD to select your desired CD wake up track.

Transmit volume adjustment
Adjust the volume of transmitted sound according to personal preference.
To adjust the volume:
1. Make a telephone call and ask the person you are calling to assist
you.
2. Press the +/– buttons on the headset simultaneously for 2 seconds.
A beep will indicate when 2 seconds has passed.
3. Adjust the volume level by pressing the + or – button.
4. When the person you are speaking with fi nds the volume of your
voice appropriate, press the +/– buttons simultaneously for 2
seconds. This setting is now stored in the headset.

I don't think the problem is the MP3
for the volume matter its normal the earphones it happened to me too!!!
just try a different brand of earphones see what happens

How is ringer volume adjusted?

VOLUME
While talking, press the VOLUME buttons (left and right
arrows) to control the volume of the handset's earpiece.
There are four volume levels. Press the right arrow (+)
button to increase the volume level, and press the left
