The plunger ( plug) has slipped out of the grove, or the bottom has split ,, heres a quick fix,, under the sink you will have a rod sticking out with a nut that holds in the shaft that is what moves the plunger up and down,, unscrew that nut and remove the shaft, there will be a tab that holds the rod to another piece of thin metal, just squeeze that and slide it off, once the nut has been removed, you can pull that out of the drain assembly, with a small flat head screwdriver,, pop up the plunger from inside the sink and inspect it,, if the lower tab on it looks good,, you will see how it slides in the hole, so that when the rod is inserted it will slip into that opening, in the plunger bottom, which makes the thing go up and down, once you've done that ( if the plunger was bad, just replace it, ) with the rod and nut back in place, you can adjust the tab so that the plunger goes up the desired length ,, here, this will make it more understanding http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kmOm55skb0 Please rate my reply and response
