Question about Samsung SPH-i500 Handheld
Not being familiar with (or a fan of) Mac, I did a little research and came up with this: Access a Shared Folder from Mac OS X. Open the Finder, click Go on the menu at the top of the screen, and select Connect to Server. Enter the following address, replacing COMPUTERNAME with the Windows computer's name: smb://COMPUTERNAME. You can also enter the other computer's local IP address instead of its name.
Not sure if it helps at all but there you have it.

Without seeing the error files, it's hard to say what the problem is, here's a few guesses 1. Did you type your contacts into the default contact list? This is the one at the top of the Outlook folder list. You should NOT create a subfolder because ActiveSync by default only synchronizes that one file. 2. You may have an antivirus or internet security program that is preventing ActiveSync from synching. This would show up in the error log. To try this, turn off: - Any firewall programs (including the Windows default one) - Any antivirus programs - Any internet security programs If this solves your problem you should add them back one by one to isolate the issue. Then when you find the problematic program, manually add ActiveSync to the list of always allowed applications.

SOURCE: Hi I have a SGH i600
A common reason that a device cannot connect to WMDC is that the firewall prevents it. You can check it out by temperately disabling the firewall. If that's the cause, please follow the steps shown in the following article(If it doesn't work.... #2):

Another reason would be the necessary driver is not installed or is not installed properly. To install the driver, use "Windows Update" when your device is connected. To repair the installation of the driver, please follow steps described in the segment "Troubleshooting tips" in the following article:
