I have a DCR-DVD301 and when I try to finalize my disc, it comes up "Access Error" on the LCD screen. The problem may be that when I view the folder of videos, there is a black box that was not recorded. I have a project for school on this camera and now I cannot edit it to present in class! ANY help you can provide is GREATLY appreciated!
Sorry for your trouble. Try copying through IMAGE MAKER from camera to hard drive then hard drive to computer DVD drive. We had a Movie Studio package with our DELL. So far we are only on our third project. So far so good! Nothing spectacular, yet; but better than in camera editing. Friday is our next shoot! We anticipate an even better finished project. Check out roxio and videowave on google search. Don't give up!

We were able to FINALIZE our practice DVD We had several shots and chose two to edit onto a bigger Test DVD. We were sooo happy to see the final edited piece. When purchasing our Sony DCR-DVD301, we knew we would not be seeking a camcorder with a great deal of editing potential. This small experience has opened new doors and new possibilities. Next, we are planning to see if using the setting that gives longer time on the DVD301 works with the same quality.

Here is some info that I have come across. DO NOT FILL UP THE DVD, allwise leave a few minutes blank so it will have room to finalize the DVD. Do not shake or jar the camera when recodring. DVD cameras will make a coaster if there is to much vibration when recording. And allwise make sure that the DVD is clean before recording.
