Sound does not match the picture

That is an issue with your cable box Diane and the company it is connected to.

Disconnect EVERYTHING from the mains supply, router, television, cable / satellite box.

Plug router in first, wait 20 minutes.

Plug in cable / satellite box, wait 5 minutes.

Plug in television.

Turn on cable box and then the television.

My tv says no signal

Hello, Sheila -

I hope I am correct in thinking you have cable or satellite dish TV service. If so . . .

Before calling your cable or satellite TV service provider technical service number, try this:

* Make sure your TV and cable/satellite TV service receiver are off.
* Unplug the main TV service reciever from the electric outlet.
* Wait about 1 minute.
* Plug the power cord for the receiver back in.
* Turn the TV and receiver box on.
It may take a few minutes for the TV service to cycle back on.

If that does not work, then call the technical customer service number for your cable or satellite service. Note: You will need to have your customer account number and maybe a PIN handy when you call.

If the steps I provided above work, please write them down and keep with your TV information to refer to again in the future, if needed.

Best wishes.

How do you plug in the cable for satellite tv?

You should have a box given to you by satellite provider. On the box you can plug in your hdmi cables and your coaxial cable
Then run cables to your TV or home theater.

My blu ray and regular DVD player have sound coming through the tv, but the tv itself on a regular chanel like ESPN, there is no sound. This is a Mitsubishi 73" DLP.

You have completed the proper troubleshooting, and by process of elimination you have determined that there is nothing wrong with your television's sound. The problem lies in cable. The next troubleshooting steps depend upon how you receive your cable channels. If you have a cable box (or a satellite receiver) you may just need to unplug it for 30 seconds to reboot it (or follow the instructions from a cable/satellite company representative on how to properly reboot your particular cable box/satellite receiver model). Also commonly the cable box/satellite receiver is not set to output audio properly. If you are connecting it to the television with an hdmi cable the audio output must be set to hdmi. Also there may be a setting pcm or bitstream. The cable box audio setting normally would have to be changed to pcm.The problem may be with the cable box/satellite receiver itself needing to be replaced or the cable cord connecting it to the television may need to be replaced. It is less likely that the television has a setting the one source input the cable box/satellite receiver is connected to that would affect the sound but confirm that there is or isn't. Last there may be something wrong with the source input you have the cable box/satellite tv receiver connected to.

If you do not have a cable box/satellite tv receiver then rescan your channels, try a different cable cord, and check with the cable company to make sure there is no internal issue at the moment.

SOUND BUT NO PICTURE - Philips 42PF9631D 42 in.

Unplug the box's power cord for 5 minutes and wait for it to reset, plug it in, wait another 3 minutes for the box to reboot, then power up the box. If that doesn't fix it then you might have to call your satellite/cable company.

Magnavox DV220MW won't record.

You need to plug a red, white, and yellow cord from the red, white, and yellow OUT of your cable or satellite box into the red, white, and yellow labelled VCR IN/LINE 1 on the Philips. To view what you are trying to record, make sure there is another red, white, and yellow cable plugged from the DVD/VCR OUT of the Philips to your television. Make sure the television is on the appropriate source channel (AUX 1, AUX 2, VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, etc). Then press the VCR button on the Philips. You should now see your cable or sat channel (as long as it's not an HD Satellite box) on the television screen. Press record, and you are on your way. Good luck!

Audio problem with hitachi 53 inch rear projection t.v.

Good Day, 1bigmoney;
Try resetting the SAT box. To do this unplug box for 2 to 3 minutes then plug A/C cord back in outlet. If no fix have SAT. box replaced, after making sure all cables on BOX are secure.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Power loss

Yes you will be able to replace the power cord and transformer (the black box).

Just to be sure thought. Shutdown your laptop and plug the cable into the laptop again. The laptop should show LED's on the front of it to show that the power is plugged in and is charging the battery. This is usually symbolised by a green or orange led.

The easiest thing to change for now would be the cable but if you continue to have issues you may have a larger problem with the power input module within the laptop itself.
