Sony TRV38 HandyCam - Blank LCD problem

I have a SONY TRV 38 camcorder. I bought it around a year and half back. But now it shows a blank LCD. Any idea how and where I can get this fixed? And any estimates on how much it might cost me to get this fixed.

I think i have a solution, still experimentinh on it. i have a drv model of sony handycam. it was showing a blank screen for quite few days. Sony service centre asked for 16,000 rupees to replace major parts.i declined and kept experimenting at home. i played the video and kept accessing the memory stick through lens and lcd screen simultaneously and switch off and on giving time gaps. day 1- it was still blank. day 2- ther was flickering when i switched on the cam. but i kept repeating this process of playinf video and turn it off wen it was getting very hot. day 3- camera started showing images very wide. day 4- it started capturing images properly. Voila! but the images were dark and grainy. this is the current status now. i hope it becums better. i wish this works for your camcorders too. All the best!

Battery symbol blinking when put on charging.

It does sound like the battery needs to be replaced, but it also could be an internal charging problem with the camcorder. I would try a new battery first, since it's the easiest and cheapest option

Camcorder

if all the indicators i.e. battery condition, play mark, counter, etc are visible on the screen then it can be a simple problem of dirty video head. try using a head cleaning cassette or do the head cleaning manually, Open the cover by removing three screws on the right hand side next to the viewfinder. Slide it little towards front and pick it up. The video head will be visible.
