I had a similar issue when changing suppliers in the UK. I had to get a PAC code from my old supplier to give to my new one so they could transfer my number over to them. I then discovered that my phone had been locked to my old supplier (the manufacturers auto lock some phones to the first network you use on the handset). Check your phone for a "network locked" message. I used an online unlock site which cost £7.90 and my phone was unlocked within 30mins. The old supplier took 9 days to send me an unlock code. I hope this helps.
First is your internet connection working Ok? If so then unplug and remove any software from your machine. Next plug it back in. It should act as a new install. Lucky you upgrade then should come up. If not go to http://mjcheck.low.li/ and download the firmware. It will have to restart but should work after that. If not repost. good luck.
No dial tone means you do not have a proper connection. Assuming your MJ is plugged into the USB port on your computer, it must Light Up to indicate it is making contact with the computer. You should get the KeyPad Control on you Computer Screen. Look at the top to see if your MJ Telephone number shows up. If not you are not connected. You may not be registered or paid up for the current period. Go on line to MagicJack.com and go to Support (Customer Services) for additional help.
As far as I can tell, Magic Jack doesn't have a public phone number. They have a knowledgebase and "live chat" support during various business hours. That will be your best bet for contacting them and having your issue resolved. Here is the URL:
go to magicjack.com go all the way to bottom of screen & it will say your account click that then enter Email or Phone Number and Password then click login then on the next page you wanna click on account and then contacts & call logs and you will see all your numbers hope this helps you out
If you've already gone to magic jack's website and downloaded their updated software then you're looking at a jack reformat. I've had this problem several times with my magic jack and you'll find many different solutions that just don't seem to work and are all very involved. Warning: doing this will lose all your contacts which from my experience is the only way to go to get this problem fixed...and only temporarily mind you until the problem happens again. Keep your contacts elsewhere in the meantime. Go ahead and go to your "My Computer" from your start menu and then take a look at the drive letters that come up while you have the magic jack plugged in...if you try to open them you will notice that one of them will say that the drive needs to be formatted (magic jack creates 2 drive letters for the device) If you see that, go ahead an select yes to format it and doing a quick format with all the default selected options will do the trick. Once it's done formatting, Launch the phone application and you would get to the screen where it asks for your email and password and then you will be logged in. keep this solution in mind whenever it happens again~ Good luck.
