Check for the switch when you power on the computer if it stuck while pressing it, if so put some small amount of oil in the corner of that switch, if the switch has no problem when you press it open the computer make sure its not plug in then remove the heatsink that has a big fan and four lock on its side using a screwdriver remove the dried thermal paste replace it with new thermal paste you can purchase it from any computer store then make sure that you put a small amount only half the size of the peanut then put back the heatsink again screw to lock in place make sure not to over lock it

Computer randomely shutting down

As a 25 years experienced technician, some times I have clients who come to me saying " I have a computer that keeps shutting down randomely " they had it checked by some tech. and he can't find a clue what's going on, even after changing the power supply...

The reason is that the tech did not noticed the swollen capacitors on the main board usually around the CPU or the RAM...

Conclusion! if your computer is randomely shutting down, befor changing any hardware, open the box and check for the physical state of the capacitors (round aluminium cans covered in a plastic shrink) the top are suppose to be FLAT not about to burst.

They can be changed by a proffessional tech. with good tools and lots of patiance (not to damage the feed trough's on the board)

Hi,

I suggest try to check these things on your machine.

->Check if the machine is Overheating.
->Check which part of the machine is Overheating.
->See if the Fan of the machine is Running(Feel if the air vent of the machine)

Cause of Automatic Shutdown:
-Memory
-Hard Drive
-Fan is not working

Most likely those are the cause of the machine keeps on shutting down unexpectedly.

Lenovo T61 keeps shutting down for no reason. Repair shop took out fan and checked it, works fine. They also blew out dust from vents. Problem still there. I installed a CPU temp utility pgm and shows temp...

Automatic shutdown is always cause of overheating, busted heatsink/ fan/motherboard. if the fan and heatsink wasnt replaced yet though they check it fine i would still recommend replacing it. if the problem persists a mainboard replacement would be the last part needs to be replaced.

I went to use a Casio 120 CR-B and it keeps saying E94 and no matter what i do, nothing happens. What is the problem as I don't have a Manual?

E94 means printer failure. Check for paper jams or any reason why the printer can't turn. Otherwise, there is a common problem in the sensor on these printers so it may need a repair.

Turn computer on and in a couple of seconds it shuts down. Please give me an idea what it could be..Thanx

Hit F8 before boot-up to enter the windows bootup menu. Select safe mode. You should see a list of drivers loaded, and then windows should load up. If it doesn't shut down, you can open the event viewer to see what errors happened when it automatically shut down.

This should help pinpoint what piece of software is the problem.
Also, if you have just recently added new ram chips, one or more of them could be bad. A service tech would have to check that for you.

Elements Mp4 player shuts down after little play

Mine did the same thing. What I did, and it worked well for me, was I went down the menu until the Settings, then clicked that and went down until the Power Off section. I clicked that and went to Sleep Time, and held the right button down until it was set to 240 (I think that's what the highest # is). That keeps it playing for 240 minutes, after which it automatically shuts down to save power. You have to reset this every time you turn the mp4 player back on.

Hope that helped!

Dehumidifier keeps shutting itself off.

For some reason it is overheating and shutting itself off. There is a law that all electronics are supposed to have a point to where it automatically shuts off if it gets too hot from a malfunction or loose connection in the circuit board. It is to protect the consumer. You either need to take it to a tech or get rid of it. Get a new one.
