You cannot use the drive without external power, specially with the 4-pin firewire: there are some USB models that allow it (usually 2,5" drives), but you need 2 USB outlet oth the PC (one for the data and power, the second for power supply). About the compatibility you shouldn't have problems.

How can i fix hp 450 g5 probook no boot device?

so what is the whole story, all you said was boot.
what do you mean by boot.
the BIOS is what boots, when you turn on any PC
then it loads a OS from there.

my guess is the HDD-0 is missing in BIOS
if yes the HDD is dead.
the probooks have a hdd test in BIOS run that if wise first.
i bet it can even find it to run.
and is dead. dead HDD.
G5 means generation 5,
this G5 is one of my all time favorite laptops . zbook even better.
read page 95 in your service manual at HP or here.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1305918/Hp-Probook-440-G5.html#product-ProBook%20450%20G5

if the HDD test fails, then it is bad, if also silent it is bad fully.
if it is bad, you buy new SSD, and install w10
end story./

SONY DSR PD 170 OR 170P IS THE CAMERA MODEL AND LAPTOP IS SONY VAIO VPCEG18FG. The camera has a DV firewire port and lap top has only 3 usb ports. I tried connecting it with a cable that ha s firewire...

This Camcorder does not support USB streaming with the Windows 7 Operating System. Use an i.LINK cable to transfer the video to the Computer. The i.LINK port is also called IEEE 1394 or Firewire port. You can use any video capturing software like Windows Movie Maker to transfer the video from the Camcorder to the Computer. The Firewire to USB cable won't work with your camcorder, you will always end up with this error.
Click the link below for the instruction to transfer the video to the Computer using i.LINK cable.

You Sony vaio laptop doesn't have firewire ports ,in this case you will need to purchase and install an firewire card ..>>
see link >>
http://www.ramelectronics.net/computer-parts/computer-accessories/firewire-i-link/firewire-cards/29972/prod29972.html

If you are using a Windows XP Operating System then you have to install the USB Streaming Driver in the Computer from the supplied Software disk with the Computer.
Check this Link for the instruction to transfer video to a Computer using USB Streaming.
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C222820
If you do not have the supplied Software disk then I suggest that you use the i.LINK cable to transfer the video.
Please let me know if you need further assistance on this issue .

Internal 3g modem not working

HI...........................

YOUR SOLUTION IS

1. The missing WiFi adapter you're looking for is the Broadcom 4313 (802.11b/g/n). download the drivers for it.

If that doesn't work try goggling for the HP package called "sp47895.exe"

2. Install the driver and reboot your machine

If it still doesn't work:

3. Install the HP Connection Manager. This can be found on the HP driver page for the ProBook 6560b.
4. Open HP Connection Manager, and enable the WiFi card (if needed).

I have a HP Officejet 4500 printer, and when I try to connect it, via ethernet cord, to my laptop, it won't connect. I did download and install via installation CD, so it's installed. Mind you I...

Hi ericcris10se
If you have trouble with the ethernet connection , try USB . If it also fails there , your device is defective or you have a driver issue . Make sure you have installed the correct driver and prefer the download file to the cd version :

How do i get recovery disc for my brand new laptop hp probook 4520s. Thanks

You need to make the recovery disc after you set up windows for the first time. On the microsoft site here it shows you a video that shows you exactly how to do that. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-a-system-repair-disc

If you didn't make you and your system has crashed you will have to get one. It must be for the same machine you are using ie your HP probook in order to have the right drivers. Hp should have drivers for your model on their site to download, however that won't reinstall windows.
