I've read many posts regarding the Princeton Graphics VL1918 about bad capacitors, but I don't think that is my problem. I'm trying to find these stinkin drivers somewhere. I just got a new computer with Win 7. The screen is pinkish and all jittery. I'm wondering if it is a compatibility issue. Yes, it is a pnp but it just seems as if the system doesn't recognize or identify that precise monitor model

If your tv works fine in viewing movies in dvd or cable there is no problem with the tv. Your right about the compatibility issue you must manually change the graphic format of your computer but if your tv has an HDMI output try to connect your pc in that input. Hope this may help good day and best regards.

The driver is needed if the correct resolution for the monitor is not on the listed, it will not affect the sceen symptom that you are having. Color casting (Red, green, blue, pink, yellow, etc. color casting the whole screen) on the screen is usually caused by poor video cable connections or bent pins or bad PC's video card. I would check that first.

This monitor is known for bad caps for sure, and it can cause a lot of starnge problem.
We need to find out first if it is the monitor or the PC problem. You will not find win7 driver for this monitor since the company no longer support this old monitor.

Vl1919 has power but screen is black.

Look for bad caps, bad transformers, shorted transistors.
http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Princeton%20VL1918W/

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My Princeton monitor VL1918 keeps blinking on and off. What is wrong

eben161, you might try replacing some "electrolytic filter capacitors" on the "switch-mode-power-supply" printed circuit board. Try to obtain new ones that have temp rating of 105 deg centegrade. remember to replace them + to + and - to - !!! don't screw it up!!! here are some of the values you will need to purchase. 470micro farad (uf) and 2200uf and all should have a voltage rating no lower than 35vdc please report back with the name of the manufacturer you find on the original "failed" ones you remove from the unit. even if they don't look bad (swollen, leaky) replace them all with new one's. If you won't do the work you can also check to see if Princeton can swap you a refurbished unit for your old+cash. But first you should read all the posts that have been written on this model lcd monitor and how they were fixed! I'm 12fixlouie If this response was helpful to you, please rate it on fixya. Bye for now.

My LCD Monitor is blinking on & off constantly

It may need a different outlet, if it is not getting proper power. Small chance that the video cable has gone bad, but more likely the monitor is damaged. But try those two things and call Princeton.

I have a Princeton VL1918 LCD monitor. Need help

Hello,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. If you don't see any bad capacitors then the next thing would be bad CFL (backlight tubes) in the screen itself. If it is that then the monitor needs to be replaced because of the tech skills needed to replace then. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Will Princeton monitor VL1918 support NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE

Hi Alvie
I Just checked the specs on both the card and the monitor. It should work no problem. If for some reason you notice some lag or flicker in the monitor, go to this page and download the updated ForceWare graphics drivers.
