Take a breath, relax. The link light means that you have established a connection with whatever is at the other end of the network cable.
You omitted that info. If the printer is connected to a switch, try a different port.
If the printer is connected to a router and you have a free port, connect it there.
If the printer is connected to a PC, that port could be bad.
If you have another printer, try plugging it into the PC.
As long as you don't have the handshake between PC and printer you won't see any IP address.
I'm not familiar with the 1320. Saying that, I believe that the network interface is on the formatter board.
And yes that could be bad. Doesn't the 1320 have a USB port? Have you tried that.
Before you spend any money, try connecting the printer to a different PC or a laptop. If it works, your printer is not the problem. If it still fails, call for service, because the formatter will need replacing.

I've tried different ports, a different router, different cables, etc. The usb port works and I can print from that, I just can't use it as a network printer. It is probably the formatter.
