I have an Axim 400 MHZ model and have been trying to use the Dell Data Backup program to backup my data onto a 32 MB CF card. Each time I try using the "Back up all data" paramenter, after about 80%+ through backing up the data, I get a backup failure message. I tried doing the full back up to the built-in storage and got the same backup failure message. My conclusion is that the problem is not with the CF card. The Axim reports that 6977 KB of storage is required, so I conclude that I have more than enough memory on the CF card (which is empty) and the internal storage memory, which has 26.33 MB free. When I try to back up using the "PIM databases only" parameter, then it works OK. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest a solution?

Try to use this method to hard reset your Samsung S500 phone: Enter *2767*3855#. Warning! All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost! Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup to your PC before full reset! Take out SIM card before full reset.
The quickest and easiest way is to do a hard reset, BUT you'll lose ALL of your data that's not backed up. Hard reset is done by holding the Power button and pressing the reset button momentarily. If your data's backed up by Active Sync or a backup program (SPB Backup is by far the best I've ever used, but it may also backup your password so you're back to square one) your in good shape, just do a restore.
Dell Axim5 Top Door is for Compact Flash car. the Battery Backup is the one to maintain the memory alive, but if you still have main battery good is supposed the memory remain until you go out of battery. I have one with some reason the battery backup do not function, so I have to backup all data.
If you had made a backup of your device then you can recover the list along with everything else you had stored in the backup. If you had been previously synced, MS Outlook will contain your contact list and all information as such will be restored onto your device. If you had added contacts after the last sync........ They will have to manually be reentered.
Well to make a long story short, after the hard reset I lost all data, and I put the axim in the cradle and it sync-ed but I had to create a new name for it, and it never brough the software that I had originally installed on the unit back... is that common and everytime we'll do a hard reset on it, will we have to re-install all the software and assing a new name to the unit, if so than it is ridiculous!!!
The backup utility included on your Dell Handheld will backup your data to a storage card. You can restore on your replacement handheld from that storage card.
From your Host PC, you can go to Tools | Backup/Restore and do a backup to the Host PC, and you can then restore after syncing the replacement handheld for the first time.
