Screen cracked need to know if it is possibley to replace the glass. It appears to be just a piece of glass that seperates the face and to my knowledge actuall screen. If possible to replace the glass which appears to behave as a divider how does one go about disassembling an all in one Gateway computer

If there is physical damage to the touchscreen, then it can become unresponsive and will need to be replaced. The touchscreen is bonded to the glass (they are one piece), so both the touchscreen & glass will need to be replaced, even though the glass may not be cracked. the problem here is Hitachi usually if it still has it sells all three screens as a unit---expensive.

You may want to search with GOOGLE the internet as some companies sell replacement "protective" screen replacements.

I have even seen one time someone found a piece of plexi-glass and had it cut to the exact size and thickness for a replacement.

Your LCD/monitor is cracked from the inside. There are several things that can cause a screen to crack from the inside. The two most common are pressure on the screen or dropping the machine. Sorry, but it is irreparable. You need to buy a replacement.

If you have no joy anywhere else, you could try the Aramani service center. Below is an extract from their web site.

its cheaper, and this is honest as it happened to me as well it's cheaper to buy a new tv.

yes. there aretorque screws around the inside frame remoive them and the 2 pieces will seperate. you can replace it then. be carefull if you remove the screws from the hinge the whole door will fall off. only six or so screws need to be removed

ya, be careful. i read online use a razor blade, jewelers screwdriver, etc to pry up on it, then take a piece of paper and work it back and forth till the screen is completely removed.
remove any bits of glass, then carefully clean off the old adheasive with a cloth or your finger. this is just what i read online. i am going to try this myself when i get the new glass screen in.

CHECK ON EBAY YOU WILL SURELY FIND IT

Screen may have a hair line crack in it causing projection to be distorted. Inspect screen very closly with magnifying glass if necessary to insure no cracks. If crack is found replace screen.
