According to the manual for the Magnavox 14MS2331/17B, you switch to the A/V input by pressing Ch+ or Ch- on either the TV or the remote until you see AV as the current option. (Thus you have to scroll down from Channel 2 or up from Channel 69 for an OTA signal. For cable TV, the AV will be reached by Ch - from channel 1 or Ch + from channel 125.) See page 3 (7 of the PDF) here: http://download.m4c.magnavox.com/files/1/14ms2331_17b/14ms2331_17b_dfu_aen.pdf .
Since it is possible to skip channels by editing the channel list, you may need to check if the AV option has been skipped. To do this, press Menu. Use the up/down buttons to navigate to Install and press the right button to enter this menu. Highlight the Channel Edit line and press the right button to check this. Once in this sub-menu, use the left/right buttons to scroll through the Channel number options (or use Ch+/Ch- to see the stored list). You can also type in a channel number on the remote. Press the down arrow to change to the line that reads Skipped. Use the left/right arrows to change between Yes or No. (No indicates you can reach the channel with the Ch+/Ch- buttons.) Use the Up arrow to return to the channel number line to scroll to other channels. Press Status/Exit to leave the menu system. See page 10 (14 of the PDF) for details.
What channels are you able to receive? When you press the Select button on DISH remote, which light on the top of the remote lights up? The Sat button should light up when you are in satellite mode. If any other button lights up, press and release the Sat button and then try changing channels. If this doesn't work, we may need to troubleshoot with you. Please call us on 1-800-333-3474 and speak with Tech Support. I hope this helps.
On this set, the volume buttons are the same as the menu button on your remote. The two channel buttons work the same as the scrolling arrows on your remote. It will take some practice, but to turn on the menu, press both volume buttons at once. Then practice using the volume controls to scroll. Once you have the hang of it, you can simply use these four buttons the same way you would have used your remote. If you cannot figure it out on your own, come back here, let me know, and I will sit down and map it out completely for you.
l. Push the "Menu button" 2. Push the "Menu button" again 3. Scroll to "Setup" and push "OK" 4. Scroll to "Guide setup" and push "OK" 5. Scroll to"No Auto Tune" 6. Click on arrow next to "No Auto Tune". This will change it to "Auto Tune". 7. Now exit, or just punch in any channel number.
