Pink Edges in Photos

I have a 1 1/2 yr old Canon A70. Any pictures taken in bright sunlight (with or without flash) have a pink edge on the bottom right of the picture always. Is there any way I can correct it. What is causing it?

The purple fringing I mentioned is noticeable in the top left upright pole for example. But the purple colouration in the bottom is a problem with the camera. Either with its lens or with the sensor. Repairing the sensor will probably be so expensive that it is unlikely worth it for an old camera. But is the lens clean? If there is some smudge in the lens, it might cause partial colouring of the image.

It is called 'purple fringing' or chromatic aberration. It is quite common with digital cameras, especially those with small sensors. Sending the camera in for repair would not help at all. It can be removed, quite labouriously, in photoshop. Usually it is very seldom so obvious that it would require corrective work. When it is, it is often only in a small part of the image making it not that time consuming to fix in photoshop.

I have a canon powershot A70. Pictures have a pink tint to them.

Contact Canon at 1-800-828-4040 and they will fix it.

I had a similar problem and it turns out to be a known problem with the CCD chip in the camara. Contact Canon and they will give you instructions to return the Camera including shipping labels. They will cover the cost of the repair regardless of the warrantee status and they are quick. You pay shipping one way.

The only issue i have is that the problem has returned a year later and I have to send it back. But I calledCanon and they said they would cover it.

Pink in the photos

maybe you use wrong white balance, test auto and manual white balance; if there is pink again then your camera have hard ware problem (CCD for exaple). I hope this helps...

Canon A75 displays images in pink

The problem could be either the display screen has partially failed (red green or blue color is not displaying) OR the screen's connection to the control board needs to be cleaned. Either repair requires disassembly. The charge at my shop would be $49 labor plus parts if required.

Color Quality PINK

no its not the flash, it is the CCD. The replacement of the CCD will solve the problem.
