If your Ext. HDD has been formatted in NTFS the TV might not detect it. Transfer the files on to a PC then reformat the HDD in FAT32. Then reload the movies , most probably the TV will read the files.

Computre not reconizing my my book HDD 1TB usb 2.0 but it does power up but when you try to plug the usb cord in nothing happens on the computre it dont even show up under devicer manager

Try an new USB cord. If nothing happens, then most like scenario is the controller card went out on the case housing the hard drive. Easy way to test is open the case, remove the hard drive and conect it to your pc or take it to a repair shop to hac=ve the hard drive tested. Usually, shops won't chare for this. If hard drive is good, pick you up a new external hard drive case.$20 or less online.

My 1 tb WD hard drive isn't even being recognized

If the 1 tb is spinning up, which I assume it is, the new PC (assuming a Win 7 OS) should see it and mount a driver to be able to talk with it. I would double check all my connections at the drive and the PC, try different USB ports just in case one is dead.

You need to reinstall your usb drivers.
For that first go to my computer property ->hardware -> device manager
then right click on usb drivers and uninstall all usb drivers 1 by 1.
Then restart computer then check .
If problem still remain then enter in bios setup then go to ide or advanced option then enable "Legacy 2.0" then save settings then restart .
