Connecting Axim plus Palm on the Same PC

I have a Dell PC with a Palm already synched to it. I just bought an Axim and can't seem to get it connected to the USB port -- receives a "Device not Connected Error". Has anyone connected 2 PDAs to the same PC and made it work?

I have a PalmV and the Dell AximX5 on a Dell GX400 with NO problems, and I use Intellsync to sync both products.

Yes you will have no problem using both on the same computer, even at the same time. I do it all the time. THis is why your dell axim is not being recognized. It took me a while. Make sure you hook up the usb port and turn on your dell axim. NOt the same as the palm , the AXIM has to be on to be recognized, at least on my setup.

I may be wrong but each PDA (assuming you are connecting different brands) have different drivers. I connected a Toshiba and Dell PDA and each required their respective install disk with their respective drivers. Then I configured each pda using the Active Sync Connection Wizard. Everything ran smoothly after that.

I can't get my axim 51 to synch with my computer.

When you connect the DELL to the computer, is the USB detected? If so, open Microsoft Activesync and verify Allow USB Connections is checked.

Lost CD Rom for my Axim x30. Anywhere I can download it?

You need ActiveSync from Microsoft. Unless you're using Vista which uses Windows Mobile Device Center. Connecting to the Axim to a Vista machine should automatically download the Windows Mobile Device Center software.

ActiveSync for XP and older systems can be downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-synch.mspx

You'll proabbly still want to update your Axim's firmware and drivers if possible.

Good luck!

My Dell Axim X5 pocket PC reverts to wrong date

Duh... I figured out that my PC had the date set a month ahead! Not sure how that happened. The Axim was dutifully synching up w/ the wrong date, and so the November appointments didn't register. Thanks for checking.

I have a Dell Axim x5 ith Pocket PC 2002(I know, I know) just want to get this serviceable for my wife to use as a planner. Problem is the active synch 4.5 won't synch the calendar and contacts any ideas?

You must be using Outlook 2000. Outlook express will not work.
Select the "options" button on Activesync and verify that the items you wish to sync are checked.

Help with Avantgo

You don't really need for it to. You can go to setting on your Axim, then to connections, and use the avant go connection, to connect, and synch with avant go that way. You can synch to avant go that way, with any internet connection. If it's connected to active synch as a guest then you can't synch with active synch also.

Pocket pc software

You should be able to export from Palm software and import into Outlook. Using Outlook on the PC and Inbox on the PPC seems to be the easiest way to view and sync data simply because it is preinstalled and ready to go. There are several other apps out there that will give you more options based on what your needs are.
