Question about Canon Digital Rebel / EOS-300D Digital Camera with EF-S 18-55mm Lens

1 Answer

Focus problem Hi all. I have a Canon 300D Rebel camera and I find there is a major problem with the focusing - most pictures come out too soft whether I'm on Auto or Manual. I've got a job on Monday and intend to use that camera so I wonder if anyone can help get the best out of the focus. Thanks in advance.

Suggestion: 1. camera probably has a sharpness setting. 2. avoid wide open, F/5.6 is the sweet spot on most lenses.

EOS Rebel 300 D will not focus

Assuming you have not switched auto focus off on the lens and not been in the camera menus you should try a different lens to eliminate whether it is the body or the lens. Body failure to focus is rare and unlikely, more likely to be the motor in the lens.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

My photos look blurry not focused. Have tried turning off the auto focus and manually focusing. They are always slightly out of focus, why?

check and make sure you do not have the soft focus turned on. that will make the pictures "soft" in focus or seem out of focus.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel 300D will not take pictures

Have you tried to take picture by switching off the autofocus to manual focus in a prperly lit environment?
If it takes a picture, then it has something to do with your auto focus system of your camera. In such a case: try taking out the battery, the memory card etc and switch off the camera and keep it for like that for about 5 minutes. And then insert only the fully charged battery and try again.
If it still gives you a problem and keep trying to focus You will need to take it to the nearest Canon Service centre.

Canon rebel xti focus issues

I think it might be a lens issue.
make sure you change the macro option. the macro must be activated if you are taking a picture of something which is close to the camera. if it's not activated, the picture will not be focused.
The same will happen if the item is far and the macro is ON.

Canon Rebel focus

I would only suggest you might clean the metal contacts on the inside rim of the lens....just be very careful what you use....a pencil eraser is good but make sure you clean away any shavings that might get into the camera...

My 300D wont lock on a point in its AF setting

If you are unable to focus in broad daylight and it just hunts through the whole focus range without locking, then it sounds like a problem with sub-mirror pin (also called the second mirror pin). My 300D just had this problem and I had to send to service to get fixed. I sent to http://www.keh.com/ as they were at least $50 cheaper than going straight to Canon. Just got it backed and it works like a charm again.
