Yesturday i emptied the ice bin from all the ice and put it in the freezer. When i woke up today i went to get ice and there were only like a handful of cubes in the bin. I turned on the ice maker plus and went outside to do work and several hours later still no ice. I can get water from the water supply but its not making ice cubes? I checked the on /off switch its on and i did not mess with the metal arm on the inside so do you have any suggestions?

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Whirlpool refrigerator ED5RHEXMT00 makes plenty of ice but is not dispensing any when the door lever is pressed. The water part is fine.

The ice bin slides down in little tracks and the drive mechanism engages the auger. It sounds like you have frost build-up in the bottom of the little slots that the ice bin rests in. The build-up keeps the drive from engaging the auger. I use a hair dryer to defrost all the accumulation under the bin once it is removed. Remove the bin by tilting out and then lifting up and out at an angle. Also empty the bin of ice cubes and check underneath for ice build up on the bottom of it too.

We accidentally left the freezer door just barely open overnight. The freezer started to thaw somewhat, but we caught the problem before anything had to be thrown out. In other words, there wasn't a lot...

yes ice formed in the bottom of the ice bin locking the auger from turning to dispense ice. Defrost the ice bin and wipe clear of any left over water from the melt.

Ice auger not working

normally someone has removed the bin to empty the ice or it was pulled out a little by accident. Try removing the bin and make sure that no ice is jaming the auger motor try turning the auger by hand. Hold down on the door switch and have someone push the demand buttom for ice and see if the motor turns. If it does reinstall bin. If it doesnt make sure ice has not blocked it. reinstall bin and try the ice button. hope this helps if this doesnt fix it the drive motor has went out.

Melded mass of ice in bin

The only thing I can offer is to limit the out put of the machine closer to what your needs are.Or bag the ice and store in a freezer. The ice pushing down while melting is what is causing the BIG FREEZE. The bin for storage may be too big for your needs, at least at the time you write this. When the demand goes up (warmer weather) the ice would be used more and the pressure pushing down will alternate as well as people getting scoops out more often this will help prevent such a freeze up in warmer weather.

Ice making problem

There is a metal wire that gets pushed up when the Ice becomes too full and turns off the ice maker. You can pull it back down with you hand and that will unlock it and turn the ice maker back on.

Kitchenaid superba ice freezes in the bin

The temperature of your freezer is probably set to low allowing the ice to melt a bit, then refreeze. Try setting your freezer temp a bit lower. That should fix it.
