"busy" Error Yet another Canon 20D question. I have been shooting both film and digital at weddings for the last two weeks. I have been very impressed with the 20D (I shot Nikon for 22 years). However, I have had my share of camera errors on the 20D. Lately, it shuts down in the middle of shooting and the LCD panel reads "busy." The busy error does not go away when turning off the camera. At first I assumed that the buffer was maxed, but I'm only shooting in single shot mode. Eventually, after my assistant goes through many processes (changing the lens, batteries, Mem cards) the "busy" note goes away. Here's the set-up, if anyone has an ideas they would be greatly appreciated! 20D 17-85 Canon Lens (IS both on and off at times) Sandisk Extreme 512MB Card Vertical Grip with 2 511A's 580EX Flash The note has appeared in both B/W mode and color- Anybody had this problem? Thanks!

Check your firmware version and update if necessary. Usually you get the "busy" message when your camera is writing to the card and it's possible the card isn't quite right - a format should fix it. Alternatately you might try a different CF card to see if the problem goes away. Good luck!

Canon 20D gone shutter crazy , clicking away on its own error code 99

The Canon 20 D is a fantastic camera but the weak point is the shutter it last about 70 to 80,000 actuation then causes a bunch of problems. In Canada it cost about $180.00 including the shipping to the repair depot to get it fixed.

I got error 099, before I was getting error 05. and the flash dos not open canon EOS 20D

I also get the error 99 message and cannot take any photos... I have been able to solve this problem by taking out the batterys and wiping down the connectors on both the batterys and the connecters in the motordrive with a lens cloth. keep the lens cloth on hand when shooting. It may be that either oils, or dirt has gotten onto the connectors. I hope this helps.

Rear lcd screen black in shooting mode but works fine in playback

Solved the problem by going to the Canon product support site. It seems that there is no problem at all. The way the camera is designed is the problem. To be able to use the rear display lcd as a view finder, the camera needs to be able to lift the mirror to allow the sensors to pick up the image and display it on the screen. The 20D does not have this abilitiy. Apparently some later models do allow you to raise the mirror. It was this feature on those models that led me to believe that the 20D should do this too.

I have a canon eos 20D and the camera don`t accept 2, 4, 8 GB CF i download the last actualization and the problam is the same can you help me with this problam thanks

I have a Canon 20D in my fleet and have used 1 gig card in it almost exclusively however I did use a 2gig and a 4gig when shooting RAW + jpg. I would think that you haven't formatted the card for the camera even if it's a new card and has never been used you need to format the card to the camera you are going to use it in.

EOs 20D digital camera

Prior to models made in 2007 or later, no SLR camera (film or digital) was able to let you compose the picture before shooting it other than through the optical viewfinder. SLRs are different in this respect from compact digital cameras. You will only be able to review your pictures on the LCD after they are taken.

Bad film or Camera.

Return the camera to the company and see if you can get a return or at least an even exchange. Get another roll of film and shoot casual stuff. Never test a camera, film or digital for the first time at any mission critical event like an anniversary or wedding. It can lead to potential disaster. Shoot the roll with the new camera if you got it exchanged and then have it developed at Walmart or wherever is cheapest. If it works, keep it. If not, don't. BTW, if you are ever going to have to shoot a wedding or anything ever again with a film point and shoot and don't want hassles, just get disposable cameras. They are designed to work out of the box with no problems. They are of higher quality then most people think for image qulity.

Polaroid used to make good instant cameras, but their 35mm film and digital stuff I wouldn't trust as much. It's not the real Polaroid which can makes only instant film gear. . It's another company using the Polaroid brand name to try and make otherwise generic stuff look better then it is. Their digital cameras have a poor reputation. I don't think their non instant film cameras are much better. Good luck.
