Dell latitude c600 primary hard drive not found
that means the storage system's MAIN drive, (the C: drive, the hard drive, the hard disk) is not working, OR, is not being seen by the computer. Try removing and reinserting the drive, or take it to a shop to have the drive tested. The c600 was usually very durable, and it is likely the PC itself is fine, and you just need a replacement hard drive. But the BAD news is, if your hard drive is toast, then so is the operating system, which means that would have to be reinstalled as well. the c600 usually came with Windows 2k, 98SE, or ME. If you are "tech challenged" like you say, your BEST option is take it to a local shop, and tell them the hard drive failed. MOST shops will charge about 30-50 bucks for a 40-80 gig hard drive, and charge about 100 bucks to reinstall Windows and drivers. AS LONG AS YOUR WINDOWS PRODUCT KEY IS ON YOUR MACHINE AND VISIBLE you wont have to purchase a registration. IF HOWEVER, your key is MISSING or unreadable (wear, scratches, etc) you will have to purchase a license from Microsoft, if that is the case, then go ahead and purchase a copy of XP have them install Windows XP and drivers for you. USUALLY, a pc shop will install purchased software for free.
