Hi

One of the most common problems with washing machines, however, is that they won't spin. Usually this is caused by an issue that easily can be fixed, but other times it can be more serious. In some cases, just the balance of the load can cause the machine not to spin.
For that reposition the clothes. Close the lid and retry. The washer may not spin at all if the tub is unbalanced.
Check the lid switch for wear. Replace a worn lid switch by first using a screwdriver to remove the top of the machine. Remove the cabinet holding the old switch in place by unscrewing the two console screws, tilting the console back, removing cabinet clips, and unlocking the lid switch block. Unscrew the mounting screws, and disconnect the ground wires before removing the old switch. Insert the new switch in its place.
Then check for lose or worn or crack in belt. If these signs appear, remove the old belt by tipping the washing machine over on its side, and unscrew the clamps securing the pump coupling with a screwdriver. Place the new belt over the transmission pulley, and then over the motor pulley's nearest edge, slowly turning the motor pulley to pull the belt around and into the pulley.
Replace the washer's motor by firmly grasping on the metal slip-on connectors holding the wires in place, allowing you to pull the connectors apart. Use a screwdriver to unscrew all of the screws holding the motor in place, and remove the old motor. Insert the new motor in its place. Secure the new motor to the machine with screws, and reconnect the motor's wiring harness.

Replace the washer's pump by removing the service panel on the back of the machine with a screwdriver and disconnecting the washing machine drain line and the rubber pump outlet hose. Remove the fasteners holding the pump to the bottom of the machine, along with the drive belt from the pulley below the pump. Replace the old pump with a new one, and reinstall the drive belt back on the pulley, reinsert the fasteners and reconnect the rubber pump inlet and discharge lines.

My Maytag Heavy duty 4 speed select, 10 cycle washing machine agitates while in spin cycle why?

If your Maytag washing machine is agitating during the spin cycle, it could be due to a few different issues. Here are some possible causes:
  1. Defective Transmission: The transmission in the washing machine is responsible for shifting the agitator and the drum between the spin and agitation cycles. If the transmission is defective, it may not be able to engage or disengage the agitator properly, causing it to spin during the spin cycle.
  2. Worn Drive Belt: The drive belt connects the motor to the transmission and helps to control the speed and direction of the agitator and drum. If the belt is worn or damaged, it may not be able to properly control the agitator, causing it to spin during the spin cycle.
  3. Malfunctioning Clutch: The clutch in the washing machine helps to regulate the spin and agitation cycles. If the clutch is not functioning properly, it may not be able to disengage the agitator during the spin cycle, causing it to spin along with the drum.
  4. Faulty Timer: The timer controls the various cycles and functions of the washing machine, including the spin and agitation cycles. If the timer is faulty, it may not be able to properly sequence the cycles, causing the agitator to spin during the spin cycle.
It's best to have a professional technician inspect and diagnose the issue to determine the exact cause and the necessary repairs.

On spin cycle sounds like change or rocks spinning around in drum.

Could be a bad bearing or something loose on the drum that doesn't rattle until you get up to spin speed. Look for something like pins, nails or screws stuck in the holes of the drum, or possibly under the protuberances (fins) inside the drum. Does the sound occur all through the spin cycle or only at top speed?

My LG TROM wash googd but dosn't want to spin

Check and see what type detergent you are using. I bought regular liquid detergent and the machine began making noise during the spin cycle and the drum would not spin. I was informed that you have to use detergent that is labeled HE (High Efficiency). The regular liquid detergent will suds up during the wash cycle which then causes the drum to slip and not spin during the spin cycle. What you are hearing during the spin cycle is the drum slipping. Unplug your washer for 30 minutes and let it reset. This lets the suds dry out. Run a cycle with no spin to rinse out the drum. This should eliminate your problem. If you have clothes in the machine, run a cycle with no spin, just don’t add any more detergent. Then run the normal cycle with spin a second time with no detergent. I hope this cures your problem.
