Someone put my bissell 9500 series proheat back together, but I dont think they got the hoses/tubes right, as it doesnt spray any liquid. If I remove a hose and then re attatch it, then turn the machine on, for about 20 seconds the indicator showing air flow spins, then it stops and wont start again unless I unplug the tube again and plug it back in, then it goes for about 20 seconds again and stops. Thanks in advance for any solutionsSomeone put my bissell 9500 series proheat back together, but I dont think they got the hoses/tubes right, as it doesnt spray any liquid. I'm having the same issue and it was the pump. The metal drive gear sheared off of the plastic pump shaft. I JB Welded it back together, now I just need a schematic to reassemble the cleaner.

You may have a bad pump, clogged hoses or a clogged heater. ... Just want to tell you that this was the perfect ...
When was the last time you changed the flat belt? Even if it isn't broken it could be so stretched out that when the brush hits the floor it slows or stops the pump from spraying. If its a new belt then and your sure there arent any clog's that usually means the pump is bad. Also if youve ever used anything other than bissell shampoo in the machine it could have ruined the pump as well.
The water is pumped via the belt that drives the pump. Remove the belt pump on the left side of the unit using a screwdriver and prying upward in the slot in the rear of the belt cover. The belt cover has holes in it. Check to make sure the belt is not broken. If it is replace, about $3-4.
Normally, there is a post sticking out of the retainer to remove it. If the post is broken off, then you will have to lift the black arm and wiggle it at the same time and the retainer will pop up so you can remove it. On the belt side, the retainer is fairly large and you can usually get a hold of it with a pair of needle nose pliers. On the other side, the retainer is small and you can lift it out with the pliers by griping it gently using the hole that the screw goes through.
