RCA XS J25330BL cannot access full setup menu

1995 RCA XS J25330BL hotel/motel set, chassis number CTC177. cannot access setup and adjust menus. only programmed with hotel channels 18-74. With a master remote (which i thought i bought off of e-bay ) you are supposed to be able to access full menu but only controls (yellow) and the alarm (green) come up. the users guide says If the FM Radio feature is turned on in the middle of the initial setup, it removes the Adjust and Setup menus from the TV screen and no additional adjustments can be made to these menus. Is there any way to reset tv so i can access setup menu and reset channel list.

Your best solution is to get rid of that crappy TV! Having an old tube Tv really makes the rooms look bad.

How do you open the menu to do an auto channel scan on a zenith H2521Y3 without a master remote. It is an old ''hotel tv'' that I ''thought'' I got a good deal on.

These hotel t.v use a particular remote so that customers can`t fool around with the setup,You may be able to get an eeprom i.c for a similar chassis from a local repair shop, but then your set may need some adjustment through the service menu i.e vertical and horizontal size, a local tv repairman may be able to help you there. good luck

I have a philips tv that i bought from a motel cant get all the channels and cant get to menu on the tv

These hotel sets have a pretty complicated setup menu. You will have to get a "master remote". The hotel has the "master remote". They really should not be selling these sets without setting them up for a non comercial application. Try www.encompassparts.com and see if they list a Master remote or a service remote. I would check myself but you didn't post a model number. You have got to have the model # for encompass.

Zenith TV not programmed for home purpose

If you have a remote that can access menu and your remote has number buttons and an enter key, you can follow this instructions to go to installer menu. Note that the installer menu is slightly different for each model, eg. some options are not available.

I was able to go to installer menu using two universal remotes. The remotes that I used were Dish Network 3.0IR and RCA RCU300WBL. Both remotes programmed for Zenith H2531DT TV. The reason why I had to use two remotes is that Dish Network remote was only able to access menu. It did not have ENTER key but RCA remote had ENTER key but I wasn't able to go to menu with that.

To go to installer menu (different from regular menu):

- Hold MENU for 8 seconds.
- Press 9, 8, 7, 6 and ENTER in the sequence.
You should be in the installer menu now. There should be a line that looks something like this:
03 VERT POS 13

Use SELECT button to scroll through each option, and ADJ button to adjust the values for each option. For example, to enable the front panel buttons on your tv, set KEY DEFEAT to 0. Other options that you might want to check:

CHAN LOCK which locks your TV to a single channel and wont let you change (set 0 to turn off)
START CH/VOL will set your tv to a specified channel when you turn on tv. (set 255 to disable)

You will have to look in the menu for some of the options because they are different for different TV series. A good place to find manual is on www.zenith.com or http://safemanuals.com/

I work in an old hotel and it took me few hours to figure out how to disable start channel lock. It drove me nuts. I hope someone finds this useful.

Zenith Concierge hotel tv wont work with my xbox 360

I doubt the TV even has a tuner if it is designed for a hotel. It may be a "dumb" receiver, nothing else. Do to channel 2 and then press the down arrow for channel, does it flip to 138 or AV1?

Zenith h32h38dt 32

The "H" model Zenith TVs are hotel/motel sets designed that
a roomer cannot access the menu feature. Your best bet would
be to purchase a name brand universal remote which has the
menu button feature or order an original Zenith master remote
which would not require programming. Once you have a workable
remote which will allow you to access the on-screen menus you
should be able to program the channels.
Hope this helps,
