Since the transfer of digital signal to the camcorder is fully automatic (no controls or adjustments of the process are active other then start or stop) the signal coming from the computer MUST be continuous. If any glitches or interruptions are present in the signal coming from the computer, the camcorder will automatically cancel the connection.

When i use the cable in my computer to get the pictures off they come off but my videos dont

Depending on your model, you might need to try and transfer the video via the firewire port. Lots of newer camcorders have a USB and a firewire (IEE1394). Typically, the USB is for photo transfers and the firewire/DV is for video transfers.

Hope this helps.

I'm not able to install drivers for my sony mini DV DCR-TRV22E handycam on mac os.

Hi,

The DCR-TRV22E Camcorder can be connected to the Macintosh Computer with the i.LINK (Firewire) cable. The Software supplied with the Camcorder is not compatible with the Macintosh Computer. Instead you've to use the Firewire cable for connecting the Camcorder to the Computer. You can use the iMovie Software for transferring the videos. You do not require any drivers from Sony, to transfer the video via i.LINK.
You require to purchase either a 4 - pin to 4 - pin or a 4 - pin to 6 - pin i.LINK / Firewire cable depending on the number of pins on the i.LINK / Firewire port of your computer (since Camcorder will have only 4PIN i-LINK, while the Computer may have a 4PIN or 6 PIN i.LINK port).

How to transfer video from vide cam to pc?

The camcorder has i.Link (FireWire) high-speed digital connection for transferring video in digital format to your computer or standalone DVD recorder in real time with no loss in quality. Also present are USB 1.1 (for picture download and video streaming) and A/V/S-Video outs.
So the way to do it ..its by firewire..and a proper software to manage it ...it came with the camera on a disk

What are the steps in transferring the videos using Firewire?

Try starting Windows Movie Maker. It will have a import function that will talk to your camcorder attached Firewire. You will need Movie Maker or some other video editing software to import your tapes into your PC.

See windows help for more info:

Transferring video to PC

Hi,
Check if it has the firewire port. If so, you can get a 4 pin firewire cable and connect to the PC.
Switch on the Cam.
Open Windows Movie Maker and import video from device.

4 pin firewire would look like this:

You can use the Movie maker to burn it to the Disk
