The Subsidy Lock is just another way of saying SIM lock. The phone is subsidised therfore it is locked hence Subsidy Lock!

Now Vodafone do 2 levels of locking in their pay as you go phones. Not only is the phone locked to the network, in this case Vodafone but it is also locked to a particular tarrif as well. Vodafone are the only company employing 2 levels of Sim locks at the moment.

The solutions are to pay Vodafone to get it unlocked which is about £15 - £20. Pay someone else to unlock it for you £10 or less.

Now if you have a Samsung V200 then you wont need to pay anyone to unlock it becasue you can do it just by some key presses
